Taverna Agistri — Restaurant in Thassos Municipality

The restaurant has a huge issue with organisation. I get that it was full but wait times are absurd! We went there yesterday and left hungry. We were 2 people and sat next to 2 other tables at the same time. After 15 minutes they returned to take our orders. After 45 minutes later they start bringing the salads and fried potatoes to the tables. After 1 hour of waiting from the order no main dish was served to our table. I went to the kitchen to ask what was going on and our order was just left there in a pile of other papers meaning they haven’t even started to prepare it! I wanted to pay for our drinks and the salad and leave but they said no charge so at least...

One of the best fishes I’ve ever eaten. The owner is really carrying and tells you what to eat. That’s nice because he shows you the fresh fish of the day (NO FARMING) and explain everything in detailed. He weight the fish and tells you the price and also what you can expect. If you decide for fish he also gives you recommendation for side dishes which go well with the fish. Price for our common dentex (best fish) (30€) & blue fish (25€).

We had really nice talks with the owner and he knows a lot about fishing, hiking and Thasos. A great local who gives tourists a really good feeling.

The first night in Limenaria, I said, “Oh, look how cute this place is, we should sit here!” - and I was right (after that, we were there almost every day during our vacation). This is an amazing spot: cozy sunbeds on the beach, a charming tavern, fresh and super-tasty food, great coffee, cold beer, and the warmest staff - the perfect combo! 🥰 I also want to say how much I appreciated the calm presence of the man who sat outside every day (the owner, I believe) - sipping beer, eating good food, feeding the cats...
