Pefkopsilia is definitely one of the trendiest taverns in Thasos right now, and during high season (we visited at the end of July), a reservation is absolutely necessary. I booked a table by phone the day before, but unfortunately, it seems my name wasn’t noted down. When we arrived, they still managed to seat us by splitting a larger table, which we appreciated—but the downside was that there was zero privacy. Tables are packed so tightly together that I felt like we were part of one big group dinner with the guests next to us. That really took away from the romantic vibe I was hoping for. In hindsight, I should’ve specifically asked for a table with a sea view, so I recommend doing that when booking. Service, on the other hand, was excellent. The waitress was fast, friendly, and everything was running smoothly—very well-organized for such a busy evening. The food was quite good. We had the best bougiourdi (baked spicy feta dish) we’ve tried on the island—definitely a highlight. However, I was disappointed by the octopus meatballs, which are apparently a local specialty. I had high expectations based on reviews, but they lacked flavor, and we didn’t even finish them—despite the fact that I generally love both octopus and meatballs. Another thing to note: the beach below is quite small, and even at 7:30 p.m. it was still full of people. I was hoping to take a few nice sunset photos from above, but it was tricky to capture the view without someone in the frame. The setting is beautiful, but it’s hard to get that postcard-perfect shot during peak hours. There’s also only one toilet, and it’s shared with beach visitors, which feels a bit off—especially when you’re dressed for dinner and the person before you walks in straight from the beach with sandy feet and a wet swimsuit. That said, Pefkopsilia is cozy, the food is enjoyable overall, and the staff does their best under pressure. I’d still recommend stopping by if you’re in the area—just be sure to book early, ask for a sea view table, and manage your expectations around space, privacy, and the beach setting during...
Read moreAn Unforgettable Culinary Journey at Pefkospilia Taverna; I recently had the pleasure of dining at Pefkospilia Taverna, and I must say, it was an absolutely magnificent experience from start to finish. This charming restaurant is a hidden gem that truly captures the essence of exceptional Greek hospitality and exquisite cuisine. From the moment we arrived, the service was impeccable. The staff were incredibly welcoming and attentive, making us feel right at home. It's the kind of place where every detail is taken care of with genuine care. To our delightful surprise, we were even offered a complimentary portion of baklava—a truly generous and delicious gesture that set the tone for the rest of our meal. The food itself was nothing short of perfection. We started with the Pefkospilia salad, a refreshing and vibrant dish that was crisp, flavorful, and perfectly balanced. For our main courses, we ordered the chicken souvlaki and the seafood pasta. The chicken souvlaki was grilled to perfection, tender and juicy with a beautiful smoky flavor. The seafood pasta was a true masterpiece—rich with a variety of fresh seafood, and the sauce was a perfect blend of delicate flavors that highlighted the quality of the ingredients. To complement our meal, we enjoyed a wonderful bottle of wine, which was expertly recommended and paired beautifully with our dishes. The combination of the delicious food, excellent wine, and warm, inviting atmosphere created a dining experience that was truly exceptional. Pefkospilia Taverna is more than just a restaurant; it's a celebration of great food, wonderful service, and a passion for creating memorable moments. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for an authentic and extraordinary dining experience. It's a place I will certainly be returning to, and I can't wait to try more of their...
Read moreI think the biggest advantage of this tavern is that it is in one of the locations with the most beautiful sea and beach on the island. This place serves as a beach, bar and restaurant from early morning until 01:00 at night. You can have a pleasant time at the beach all day long. The sunbeds are of high quality and comfortable. There is a minimum spending requirement of 40€ for 1 umbrella, this fee is normal when you stay all day anyway. The restaurant serves during the day and in the evening, its menu is successful, alternatives and options are more than enough. The appetizers, seafood, grills we tried were all very delicious. The service was quite fast. The staff is attentive and helpful enough. It can be reached from the center in 15 minutes by car. It has a wonderful view. The sunset and evening ambiance are especially worth seeing. The sea was magnificent the day we went. It is a busy and popular place, so you should go early for an umbrella and a sunbed. In season, it is necessary to make a reservation for dinner in advance. It is difficult to find a suitable table without a reservation in the evening. Yes, the prices are a little higher than the island average, but when I consider all the criteria such as presentation, taste, cleanliness, quality, adequate staff, location, view... these prices are quite reasonable for the quality of service you receive. We only went for dinner, we were very pleased, so we spent our last day on the island here. It is definitely a very good and high-quality...
