Taverna Glifoneri — Restaurant in Thassos Municipality

I went on the recommendation of the hotel staff. It's a mediocre place. The service is quite poor. The food is average to below average. The small farm-aged sea bream is 35€, well above average. Other prices are average for Thassos. Since the area is close to Limenas and other options, I recommend exploring other options for a pleasant dinner. We had a comprehensive dinner after the beach, but we weren't satisfied. It might be quick snack after the beach at most, but i think there is not suitable place for a one or two-hour dinner with drinks.

Also, the person who sits upstairs and gives the employees old fashioned instructions / warnings that seem aggressive from my perspective, and who I think he is the manager or owner of the business, I think the employees would be able to work more comfortably if he didn't do this, or if he insists on this style, at least it would be more pleasant for me as a customer not to see and hear this while I'm sitting...

I entered taverna and sitt arround the free table together with my son and wife. After few minutes, no less than 3 minutes and no more then 5 minutes, one of the waiter approach the table asking how many of us will sit arround the table. I said 3 people. He said that the table was for 6 people and proposed to us to move and sit around the small table for 2 persons. I realized that table for 2 persons is not big enough for us but facing the situation that other tables were ocuppied i accepted proposal. Few seconds later he brought 3 member family for "6 person table". It means the same number of member family instead of us. The only difference between families was a language we speak. What to say apart from discriminatory. I can't comment the food, since i didnt have an opportunity to taste it, but behaivor of personel. Of course, we left...

My family and I spent a 6-day holiday here, and we spent every single day on this beautiful beach. The staff were incredibly friendly and kind, and the service was impressively fast. A special thanks to Dimitris, who was extremely helpful and kind throughout our stay. Thanks to him, we had a truly wonderful holiday.

We were traveling with my 2-year-old baby nephew, and he had so much fun—so if you’re looking for a kid-friendly spot, this place is highly recommended!

We tried a variety of dishes from the menu. My favorites were the fried peppers, fries, and courgettes—all absolutely delicious. Be sure to check the daily specials before ordering, as the menu changes every day, and everything we tried was excellent.
