Warning! Total rip off on sunbeds and umbrellas! Very rude manager /owner!
Also see many other one star reviews...
Here is the story: My wife checked in on a (one) sunbed at 5 o' clock in the afternoon and left at about 6, after one hour. Upon check in, she wanted to pay for the bed. The guy at the beach said: "no need to pay, if you order something later on." No mention of what followed at check out!
He charged 10 Euros for 1 sunbed for 1 hour from 5 in the afternoon onwards! (No consumption, see below)
Completely ridiculous! Rip off!
When I discussed this unacceptable behavior with the guy from the check in, the manager/ owner joined and behaved in a very rude way (as mentioned in many other reviews). I learnt that there is a minimum consumption of 15 Euros for a free sunbed. No mention anywhere upon check in! Not even, when my wife wanted to pay upon check in.
Completely unacceptable: The manager even shouted at me after I was already 10 meters down the road. He also said that I should go elsewhere, if I do not like his prices.
Of course that is what I would recommend to everyone!
I love Greece and Greek hospitality for more than 40 years. But this kind of attitude and behavior is not good for Greek tourism, nor for the reputation of Greece abroad. Therefore I will file an official complaint with the tourism authorities in charge.
RECOMMENDATION: Go to Papa Nero beach (only 500m away). One sunbed plus one umbrella is 4 Euros per day, including cold water for free!
Papa Nero beach is much more beautiful anyway! And it is much better maintained and cleaned(!) than the one in front of Kenta Hotel.
The bars and restaurants at Papa Nero ... many of them under beautiful old trees... also have a much...
Read moreI stayed at this hotel for seven nights in early to mid-August. It’s worth noting that I have no prior experience with three-star hotels, so my comments may be stricter than they deserve. Overall, the owners are genuinely dedicated, and the value for money is fair. The hotel is right on the seafront — which is also the main street of Agios Ioannis — surrounded by many restaurants and cafés. Our Comfort Room with sea view on the top floor was spacious, tastefully decorated in cool tones, well-lit, and clean. Downsides: few power outlets near the bed and low shower pressure, especially when neighboring rooms were in use. There’s no private parking; the nearest lot is 300 m away, and street parking is scarce. The beach in front is average, but there are beautiful ones nearby: Plaka (difficult and somewhat risky coastal path) and Papa Nero (1 km walk; don’t drive). Beach umbrellas must be reserved the day before. Wi-Fi is good throughout. Breakfast is basic and lacks variety. On some nights, there were parties with loud music — even live until 3 a.m. — which may be an issue for light sleepers. That said, one night I did enjoy the music from my balcony. Personally, I think a hotel and a bar don’t mix well. Staff and owners are exceptionally kind and helpful; when we left, they even gave us two bottles of water for the road — a small but...

I stayed 12 days at Kenta Beach Hotel and I loved everything about it.
STAFF You are welcomed and accompanied during your stay by a very kind, helpful and polite team who makes you feel very comfortable and who's willing to help you with anything you might need.
ROOMS & BREAKFAST The rooms have a fresh design and are super super clean with soundproof windows. The pillows and beds are very comfortable and the view is amazing. I recommend you to book the rooms that face the sea. The breakfast has a lot to choose from and during 12 days I didn't get bored at all. I also recommend you to try the classic Greek frappe.
BEACH & FOOD The beach setting continues the fresh design of the hotel and you feel like being on a luxurious Mikonos beach. The beach is clean and the sea is crystal clear. On the beach, we had several snacks but my favourite ones were the mini Arabic sandwich and the Club sandwich which reminded me of Scooby Doo's ones (Delicios!!).
BAR During the night the terrace functions as a bar. It is the cozziest and most romantic looking place in Agios Ioannis. We tried many cocktails and my favourite one...
