The best experience we had during our vacation in Zakynthos. The food was absolutely delitious, by far the best we ever tried since our arrival. The locatiom is the most beautiful in laganas with a wide patio wich was full of a wide variety of plants and flowers. The food was very very good and you really can't end your trip without trying it if you really want to try some original greek cuisine. We suggest you to try at least moussaka, stifado and the souvlaki but based on our experience pretty everything on the menu will satisfy you. But the best of our experience was meeting the owner, Achille, who is an absolute legend. He is extremely friendly and will put you at your ease as soon as you enter the restaurant. He gave us the real full experience of greek hospitality and was very nice to talk to. We spoke about various topics with a really friendly atmosphere and he instantly seemed part of our group. The portions of food are very generous and absolutely worthy the price. He was also so kind to offer us water, appetizers, desserts, beer and a whole jug of traditional home tsipouro (traditional greek digestive spirit).

You really can't leave Zakynthos without passong by this...

This place was pretty much full at 19:00 -20:00, even though late September might be considered "low season". As all the reviews here go, the food is indeed delicious (if you order whatever is fresh or recommended), the host/waiter/owner provides a one-man-show experience, there are appetizires/drinks on the house, the overall atmosphere is energetic, joyful and unpretentious -- just as you would expect from a Greek family-owned business. We would have given it 4 stars for our second stay, because there are certain downsides to what I mentioned above, meaning the place is clearly understaffed (waited more than 15 minutes to pay and leave) and hygiene is not a particular strength, but the appeal here is clear -- you're not visiting Zante for posh, fine-dining experiences, you're probably searching for that "authentic Greek taverna" with honest prices for good food, jovial service, certain on-the-house treats and an overall feeling of wanting to return; then this place does the...

We visited Achilles Restaurant five times during our stay in Zakynthos – that says it all! Each visit was a wonderful experience, and the food consistently impressed us.

We tried a wide variety of dishes, including traditional Greek meals, lamb, steak, gyros, seafood, grilled octopus, spaghetti, and pizza. Everything was delicious, freshly prepared, and full of authentic flavor. The lamb was tender and perfectly seasoned, and the seafood – especially the octopus – was fresh and expertly grilled. Even the pasta and pizza were surprisingly good!

The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, and the staff are incredibly friendly and attentive. We always felt at home here. Whether you're craving traditional Greek cuisine or something more familiar, Achilles has something for everyone.
