BOOK THIS RESTAURANT FOR YOUR HOLIDAY - you will not be disappointed!
We booked for our first night in Kalamaki based on TA reviews and, despite being exhausted, agreed we wanted to go to this restaurant on our final night. The attention to great service is unrivalled across the whole island, Emilios’s welcome is warm but not intrusive, the way you get accosted by some restaurants is way OTT but not here.
The menu is fab, you can get something for everyone, even an ultra picky child!
Maria and Mary were delightful and had us all in stitches with their quips and friendly banter.
The dancing and plate smashing is great fun, again the kids loved it and tbh, so did we!!
During the holiday I had an accident, resulting in a boot on my ankle - Emilios spotted this mid holiday and rushed out to see what had happened.
When we visited for our second meal on the last night, we were greeted like friends. What was so impressive is the attention to detail - when my son ordered his pasta he went to say ‘no mushrooms’ but Maria got there first! She said, ‘I know, no mushrooms’!! She remembered this detail from 6 nights previous. How’s that for care and attention. FIRST CLASS!
The food was delicious, everything we ordered was tasty and plates were clean!!
If we visit Zante again, this will be the first place we visit. It’s a family concern, Emilios and his brother’s business with parents in the kitchen and family serving and helping customers. In a town where competition is high, these guys are smashing it effortlessly!
Wishing the business ongoing success - keep doing what...
Read moreI still can’t quite put into words the warmth and hospitality that greeted me the moment I walked through the doors of Ambrosia. From the start, I felt embraced—not as a mere guest, but as though I had returned to see cherished family. This place is, without a doubt, the perfect gem of Zakynthos.
There’s something magical about the way everyone—staff, hosts—welcomed me with open arms. The kindness and warmth they radiate can’t be captured on paper; it has to be experienced in silence, in a look, in the gentle smile behind every word.
And then, at 9 PM, the evening truly transforms. Traditional Greek dancing begins, accompanied by the mesmerizing spectacle of fire—an unforgettable celebration of culture and joy that fills the entire atmosphere with life and emotion. It’s the kind of moment that makes you feel not like a visitor, but part of something greater, something deeply rooted in the soul of Greece.
I’ve visited so many places, tasted so many menus—but Ambrosia’s hospitality is beyond description, and the food… well, it’s equally unforgettable. Every bite carries the echo of tradition, care, and passion, elevating simple ingredients into something deeply soulful.
Ambrosia isn’t just a restaurant. It’s a home away from home. It’s the place where strangers become friends, where meals become memories, and where every detail—from greeting to goodbye—feels like a...
Read moreAmbrosia looks really nice on your walk past: an open plan restaurant popping with crisp white and vibrant blue decor, bringing the colours of the Greek flag to life, and when you walk in, the culture of Greece comes to life. The atmosphere is buzzing, with the staff joining conversations between tables, creating the feeling of a communal experience, with many customers (myself included) knowing the staff on a first name basis, and coming here multiple times during their stay. I came here twice, the first time I had the pork fillet, which was cooked perfectly, and the cocktails I had alongside were really nice as well, and on my second visit, I had the Ambrosia special salad (chicken, halloumi and avocado) which may have been the best salad I've ever eaten, paired with garlic bread that had a thick crust and great flavour. Eating at Ambrosia feels like going around a mates house, who also knows how to cook incredible Greek food, whether you care most for atmosphere, service or food, Ambrosia...
