Parthenon — Restaurant in Zakynthos Municipality

Such a shame, dined purely on the exterior with high hopes. However Some of the negative reviews are quiet accurate. Starters were nice. Garlic mushrooms and brushetta. Simple but good . Supposedly fresh 🤷‍♂️ On to the mains... As an avid greek food eater me and my lovely lady ordered the moussaka and I ordered a beef dish. Sadly the moussaka was completely tasteless ( as greek as my dog) The beef dish was a random, dry beef dish smothered in some overly rich tomato sauce.( dolmario) All prepared fresh apparently, 🙄🫡 although as a cook myself I do not see them making 20+ moussaka fresh per night and in 10 minutes.🙄 Wine was nice. Service was good from a few waiters and genuine apologies but rather sad and desperate buttering tactics ( free drinks and shots) from " The manager" after my complaint was made. And was told " the taste is not for you, all is fresh, I wouldn't be busy if it wasn't good, why you complain over 15 euro so you can get richer and I get poorer" .... clearly took my honest opinion as an insult and begrudgingly took some money off the bill and then asked if I'm happy now. 🤣 Over all, a bit of a shame, and attempting to belittle your customers over honest reviews of tasteless shit food is just sad. Taste it yourself and tell me its as good as the facade of the restaurant itself. Hardly greek. Over the road is much better. Save your money and maybe avoid...

We visited kalamaki in may 2019 & October 2019, both time we visited the Parthenon.

This gem on the main road through kalamaki serves an extensive menu which is no reflection on the standard or quality of the food. The reason the menu is so big is because the food is that good, they can offer more variety to their customers.

Whether but be a mixed grill, pasta dish, kleftico, steak or any of your favourites, you will have a great meal and that's before you experience great hospitality from Lefteri, his brother & their waiting team. You will be greeted like a member of the family, made to feel at home with you children given space to play whilst you wait on your meal or enjoy drinks afterwards.

If you are lucky to attend a Greek night you will have an entertaining night that will only add to your dining experience, don't be afraid to join in like I did!

In all this restaurant is not talked about enough when people talk about Kalamaki, it is a travesty because this is a hidden gem and having ate in a few different restaurants in kalamaki, none compare for food or dining experience to the Parthenon.

Fantastic meal out on Zakynthos. We are on an all inclusive holiday but like to have one meal out as a treat and Parthenon didn't disappoint! All of the staff were welcoming and the decor was beautiful. They could see we were struggling to choose some cocktails as we were spoilt for choice, so the lady (didn't get her name unfortunately) came over and gave us her recommendations based on our preferences and the Vision & Pornstar Martini were delicious. The food was amazing too! We tried dolmades, taramasalata and the homemade bread for the starters and had the Beef Stifado and Pork Souvlaki for mains and every dish was brilliant and flavourful.
