Marathia star — Restaurant in Zakynthos Municipality

Previous review below, we ordered gyros and moussaka 2 beers and 1 dessert, 49e! We stayed next door in abra, thinking we would eat here all the time, but food was only OK this time. Feels like a new chef. Very disappointing, I even had to find the waitress myself to order the dessert. Very very disappointing. We also got the feeling that they wanted us to leave as we had a table with a view... 😔

One of 3 proper family owned restaurants I found in zakynthos, our host was honest and really nice, food is mostly homemade but if you ask you won't get anything frozen, the host was also quite informative on how to spot a frozen dish by ingredients 😀. Our FAVOURITE taverna in Zakynthos (or even in the world!). My boyfriend and I had lunch/ dinner here on five out of our seven days on the island. We couldn’t stop coming back! The restaurant’s view is incredible, and the atmosphere is so peaceful and warm.

The food is absolutely delicious- especially the Greek salad, snapper fish and homemade olive tapenade! The homemade walnut and chocolate cake was honestly the best we have ever tasted.

The restaurant owners were so lovely. We even got to meet their kittens!! (See photos!). Whether you want a quick lunch or a fancy dinner, away from the busy areas, this is the place to go.

Best food I had in Zante. A family run, hidden gem, with framed longing gaze of Turtle Island in view. A 15-minute walk up from Keri Beach area. Along the restaurant, there is a beach path to some rocks below where we had the most exhilarating giddy dip in the water. “Q to Server: Where is the local wine from? … A: My father made it.” … came for an early dinner with a smaller group of friends, and returned for lunch as a duo, to run into the rest of the original friend group who also happily arrived...
