Panos Greek Restaurant - Authentic Zakynthian Cuisine — Restaurant in Zakynthos Municipality

When we arrived staff were very friendly and polite, We ordered starters and a main, Starters were amazing, but when the main dish arrived ( pork/chicken gyros) we noticed a foul smell coming from the pork, ignoring the smell we tried the meat, it left a disgusting taste in our mouths, the chips were still raw throughout the middle. We asked the waitress to come over to the table so we could explain the situation, The waitress became very defensive and would rudely interrupt when we were trying to explain the issues, I then asked for the manager which they responded not a problem, Another member of staff came over (not the manager) who proceeded with the same attitude, They were very persistent on us ordering more food even tho we explained that this had put us off the food and we no longer had the appetite due to the dish we were served, Once we established that we did not want anymore food, they were saying that as the meal had already been added to the bill they could not make any adjustments, they tried saying that we made ourself full and we no longer wanted the dish for that reason, it wasn't until we explained that we had been to several different resturants/Tavernas in the same area and had no issues whatsoever whilst ordering the same dish on previous nights. They then brought a food order pad for us to write a complaint to the manager on, as they then said the manager wasn't in. We finally got to the end and didn't get charged for the main dish, But that doesn't justify the fact how rude and pushy the waitresses were by trying to force us to order more food in which we weren't interested in. WORST STEAK ON THE ISLAND! I’ve eaten steak every night for the last 8 nights in different restaurants in this area and this was completely unedible!!!! I always have well done and everywhere else can still cook it super soft and not burnt at all and to perfection, PANOS ON THE OTHER HAND came out still raw when I cut it so I had to send it back which I absolutely hate doing this! So then when it came back out burnt to a crisp & not even remotely chewable I couldn’t ask to send it back again it’s just far to awkward, I didn’t eat any of it even the chips were hard inside like raw potatoes I had no intention of saying anything but when the bill came they asked was everything ok we said yes they then asked a second time so I did tell them that the steak wasn’t edible She asked why didn’t I say anything Which was because I’d already sent it back once and was uncomfortable moaning again She then took the bill back and sent her manager over who was very rude just said well you should of said something and walked off I wasn’t trying to get money off my bill I wasn’t even going to say anything Was only because they asked a second time They then brought the full bill back over and repeated we should of said something I mean they took the plate away completely full knowing I’d already returned the meal once so they could see something wasn’t right I’m only leaving the review because I found the manager extremely rude!! I come from Zante and I have been in Panos tavern before through the years. So I decided this year to bring my friend who joined me on my vacations to dine here. Terrible mistake. First of all NOT a dog friendly place. I had my dog with me and they made it obvious that it was a problem from the moment we arrived. They were discussing if we could get a table at the restaurant. They said its ok, only if we sit at the very end of the terrace and place the dog against the wall, so he will not be seen. I said that if they have a problem with the dog we can find another restaurant but they said its ok if we sit at this specific table. Through our dining there, they seemed bothered by the dog, and requested us to keep him near us when people were coming into the restaurant, although he was doing nothing to bother the rest of the customers. Also they were sitting all the customers within 3 tables far from ours, something that made us feel really bad. We were asked to pay before we even finished our food and we were the only table that didnt receive a thank you dessert. Not important but we are Greek, and its one of these places that they want to work with foreign customers. Rude stuff, that was arguing between one another through the whole time we were there.
