There're Indian restaurants and then there are Indian restaurants. The Sitar is one of the best I have ever eaten at. (I come from Yorkshire my uncle, used to live in Bradford and now lives in York he's taken me to Akbars one of the best in Yorkshire). The Sitar is up there with the best! They do everything really really well from the really spicy Phall or Naga Gosht (my favourite) to a nice mild Korma or Kashmiri Delight or maybe a Chicken Tiki Masala? The starters are also fantastic the Onion Bhajis or some of the nicest I've ever tasted I also like the Chicken Pakoras a fantastic starter. Takeaways can take a while because the place is so popular however unlike most places eating in the restaurant is the same price as ordering a takeaway, minus the delivery charge of course. And because they're open till 11 o'clock at night I would recommend going in and having a sit down meal! The atmosphere is fantastic classical Indian music playing the Fishtank brilliant favourite (very finding memo) staff are brilliant they really look after you, making it feel like you've come out for a much more expensive meal, than you actually have. I can't fault the place I really think it's probably one of the most underrated restaurants on Guernsey pound for pound give it a try you won't be disappointed....
Read moreSitara Indian restaurant is a delightful dining experience. My wife and I visited on a Saturday night, and despite being moderately busy, we were seated promptly upon entering. The menu was handed to us immediately, and we appreciated having enough time to peruse the options. Being a Bangladeshi owned and run Indian restaurant, it offers a unique and authentic experience like many others in the UK.
The food at Sitara was delicious and we were impressed by the professionalism and courteousness of the staff. Their use of modern technology for taking orders and processing bills added a touch of convenience to our dining experience. The restaurant's atmosphere was clean and beautiful, creating a pleasant ambiance for our meal, accompanied by a good selection of Indian melodies that further enhanced the mood.
We couldn't help but admire the table presentation, which was impressive. Though the pricing was slightly higher than average, we found it justified, especially considering the areas popularity as a tourist destination.
Overall, we were delighted with our visit to Sitara Indian restaurant. It ticked all the boxes for us, and we couldn't find any faults. If you're looking for a top-notch Indian dining experience with great food, service and ambiance, this place should be at the top...
Read moreThe Sitar is my favourite Indian - full stop. As good as any I've had anywhere else in the UK and that includes Curry Mile in Manchester and Brick Lane, London. Seriously, I worship my curries and I never would have believed I'd find the very best on this little island, yet here it is.
I've eaten there hundreds of times (I'm not exaggerating) and it never fails to deliver incredible quality, great, characterful service and astonishingly tasty nosh.
The Sitar isn't just the best Indian on Guernsey it's the best restaurant on the island.
When you visit, all the curry dishes are outstanding, you can't go wrong, but the absolute must-have is the nan bread. Freshly baked to order it's out of this world. The peshwari nan in particular is like crack cocaine!
Only word of warning - you...
