Although anything can be romantic with ambiance—a bistro or café on a rainy day, a pizza place on a Tuesday night or a picnic in a park—relatively few restaurants and bars actually are. It takes a lot to conjure real 'ambiente'. In love and hospitality, the right combination of lighting, aesthetic appeal and the yearning for more can make magic. The restaurant Aura , which opened just a short time ago in its new location, has all of the substance, style and intangible qualities that often kindle infatuation. It must be San Pedro Sula’s best new date place and culinary favorite.
Aura is exceedingly eye catching, even before the sun sets outside on its terrace where it’s views of the city are unmatched. It’s bar has mild “speakeasy” proclivities, with several chairs at bar and staff mixologists prepared to please you with a provocative menu of cocktails, and ideally crafted to turn "getting to know you" into a little more.
The expanse of the bright and airy venue is where elegant light fixtures float above marbled tables. It’s all very intimate and lively at the same time. Aura has as venerable and varied a dinner menu as any top dining destination. The excellently calibrated options are equally suited to order one or a few of the delicious offerings. The sushi rolls are wonderful in all the ways you would hope they would be. Then you find the Gyozas of shrimp or pork to share. Take warning...your date may become upset that you if did not order enough to share. Quick tip...order one more than you think you need. Then you are presented with the challenge to select which of their ceviche, carpaccio or taradito offerings to try. These dishes push the Asian fusion up to the max. With a great union of flavors and textures you might have to try them all.
Just when you are looking for something exceedingly savory and familiar. The assortment of tacos and their uniquely crafted complements will have any thoughts of sharing with others to simply vanish. From the select cuts of beef, including entraña, puyazu and wagyu, to succulent fish and seafood. These tacos may be your new favorite in the city.
The Vibe: Exceedingly pretty, intimate and romantic with a quick pulse; SPS’s best new date and fun group...
Read moreI have been there several times in the afternoon when is empty yet the service ppl has been always respectful but super slow regardless of the many waiters hanging out around the bar. Food takes more than 30 min to arrive and this is with a couple tables around. Thankfully the wait is worth it. Beautiful place for sure! I have tried many of their dishes and they are far too small for the price! Delish but small! I would stick with any of the sushi rolls or ramen soup in my opinion these are the best dishes they have. Anything else, you will live hungry and a bit...
Read moreThey seem in an hurry to get you out of the establishment. Always flocking around you getting stuff out of the table before you even finish.
Over priced food and excessive “service tip”. An old man there was really rude when we told him our father’s birthday was today (we weren’t celebrating, only a small birthday bag). Servings are far too small.
Granted - their burguer was really delicious, but overpriced...
