Charming restaurant with great service! The restaurant is a bit hidden in a backyard, but close to the main street, so it is easily accessible (about 3 minutes from the abbey) and very quiet. The food was very tasty, we especially recommend the Tihany stew. The prices are slightly higher than elsewhere, but perfectly acceptable for the location. With 4 people we paid around 30,000 HUF/ 76€. Our waiter Attila was incredibly friendly and very helpful, as was his colleague. The staff spoke good English and also a little German. The menu is trilingual Hungarian-English-German and (pleasantly surprising!) also includes allergen labelling, which is very helpful for allergy sufferers. I with coeliac disease was also able to discover some gluten-free dishes. A particular highlight was the little cat that visited us at the table! Only the toilets could do with a refurbishment and better maintenance.

The prices are very reasonable for the quality and portion sizes.

One of the highlights of visit was the excellent customer service. The staff went out of their way to make us feel welcome, and one of the waiters spoke excellent English, which made the whole experience even more enjoyable.

The atmosphere in the restaurant feels like home – cozy and inviting, with a genuine local vibe. I always love coming back, and every time the experience is just as wonderful....

Want real Hungarian food, come here. Absolute perfection. Nothing fancy, just as it should be. The quality of the food is exceptional. The portions are big and will fill you up. Very very reasonably priced. You can taste in the food that they care. My sincerest recommendations for this place. Try real authentic Hungarian porkolt here.
