Dallas Étterem — Restaurant in Budapest

We arrived with huge expectations. First of all we've heard a lot of good about this place, and it is something "new", something special in Hungary.

We noticed that the table was sticky... Like it was not cleaned properly.

Appetisers: Not bad, but nothing special. We've ordered baked jalapeno sticks filled with chese (you can get the same quality in Burger King), and potatoes with chedar and bacon, where the patato missed a lot of salt, and we couldn't taste the chedar. But this was nothing compared to what came next.

Entree: We ordered 2 steaks, one well done, one medium, a plate for two, and a steak salad.

Steaks: The waiter told us which steak was which, but how did he know, I dont get, because there was no sign of which was which. We checked, and THERE WAS NO DIFFERENCE IN THE TWO STEAKS! Both of them looked the same inside. I know how to cook steak, these weren't medium rare, nor well done.

Steak Salad: This was actually really good, but it's only lettuce, parmesan, and steak, so...

Plate for two: There were chicken wings, bbq ribs, baby chicken, chili con carne, beans, salad, and potatoes. The chicken wings were sour. I don't know if it was the spicing (I suppose yes) or not, but they could have told us in some way, that is something different. However, this was the best thing on the plate. The baby chicken was blend, would have needed a lot more seasoning; the beans were canned (for sure, sadly sometimes I eat them); and the chili con carne had no meat in it (so it was only chili beans). But here came the extra part. If you've ever watched any cooking show, or have been to a good restaurant you know that when they serve good ribs, you can just pull the bones out. Well sometimes is does not get so tender, but... This meat was supposably micorwaved. You could tell from the bbw sauce on the top. We had to saw the meat down from the bones, but wirst of all the meat was rancid! It already started to go bad. You could even smell it on the bottom of it!!!!

HOW CAN IT BE, THAT THEY SERVE YOU MEAT THAT HAS ALREADY STARTED TO GO BAD?!

Had no words...

We ordered some deserts, since we couldn't eat the main cource. We've got an apple pie with ice cream. They served the apple pie on a hot plate (very very hot plate), and they put the ice cream in a bowl ON the hot plate... Really? The pie was good, but not that awesome as the price was high.

The drinks are highly overpriced. 900 HUF (3 EUR) for a drink made from syrup, when you can get a whole bottle of the same syrup for the same price in the shop...

I have to say, that the waiter apologized when we told him that the course was bad, but we only told him about the ribs. He told me, that HE gave us 10% discount because of that. Now this means a few things: First of all, it was HIS decision, not the kitchens. The least would be from the kitchen, that we shouldn't pay for the bad food, or they would apologize in any way for it. Second: He probably gave us the regular discount he can give to his friends, so the management will not know about this. Third: He wasn't shocked at all... This wasn't the first time for sure.

These things shouldn't...

I can’t really recommend this restaurant.

The menu is as big as a bible and still, there was not one food that popped into my eye that I had to eat. Decided on three small burgers with fries. Well, my cheese was black - like moldy black and the chicken was on the brink of still being raw. We ate a few bites and then left the food.

The waiters are really fast to ask you want you want to drink or eat, don’t even let you time to get to the second page of the menu, but when you want to pay and leave, you’re invisible. I even looked one waitress straight in the eye and asked for a check, she just walked by us and attended a new customer.

Prices are way too expensive for what you get.

Points are for the place itself, does look...

Még régen, hosszú évekkel ezelőtt voltunk itt párszor, akkor teljesen rendben volt az étterem, mostanra katasztrófa minden téren. Nem vagyok kekec, megértem ha úszik egy hely, türelmes és toleráns vagyok, de ez levágta a biztit:

A felszolgálók unottak, flegmák, figyelmetlenek. A ragacsos, kólafoltos asztalra megkaptuk az "étlapot", ami ahogy sokan írják régóta, darabokban lóg, szakadt, lapozni nel, csak rakosgatni lehet. Ez persze nem is baj, mert az igazi menü egy A4-es lapon van, kb. 10%-kal magasabb árakkal, mint a másikon, a fecniken csak a képeket nézegetheted. Éppen készül az új étlap -mondta a felszolgáló. Aha, hónapok óta készül.. :D Szépen megkértem, hogy legyen szíves törölje le az asztalt, mert ragacsos, koszos több helyen. A válasz után, miszerint a laminálás lejött, azért ragadnak az asztalok, zavartan nézett aztán elindult valahová na, nekünk is akkor kellett volna..

Most hamburgert ettünk, ez kissé íztelen, unalmas volt, viszont drága. Nem, nem egy mekis sajtburgerhez képest drága, hanem egy hamburger profilú étteremhez képest. Alapvetően minden túlárazott, és ez nem nézőpont kérdése, mert nem csak egyes tételek drágák (mint pl. a +2.000(!) Ft extráért kérhető "wellnessbuci", hanem pocsék az ár-érték arány.

Jópár dolgot nem lehetett rendelni, mert kifogyott. Például kifogyott a shake (semmilyen sem volt) délután 2-kor szombaton - az amerikai dinerben..

A legkínosabb az volt, mikor a desszertet kerestem a magam előtt tartott lapokat olvasva, és a felszolgáló szó nélkül elkezdett kotorászni a tányérom után, hogy ő bizony elviszi. Most. Nem akkor, ha már kitaláltam mit akarok, hanem azonnal, akkor is ha ezért szó, vagy bármi jelzés nélkül nyúlkálni kell a kezem alatt.

Döbbenetesen pocsék lett a hely, kár hogy a régi emlékek alapján mentünk, el kellett volna olvasni a friss hozzászólásokat.

Ja és a teljesen életszerű, egy sémára készült self-marketing véleményeken jót mosolyogtam, aranyosra sikerültek.

Majd elfelejtettem, a wc koszos és büdös volt, mondjuk az már...
