First of all, I want to highlight how authentic this place is — while still being well-prepared for European guests. The staff clearly speaks all three languages: Chinese, Hungarian, and English. There are enough team members to serve everyone attentively. When I went to prepare my sauce and noticed that the ingredients weren’t labeled in English, I opened my translator — but before I could even start, a waitress was already at my side and kindly named every item for me in English.
Upon arrival, I was also warned that “spicy” really means spicy, and was advised to add a second base to balance it out. I appreciated the heads-up — I had originally planned to go with the medium spicy version, but thanks to the advice, I opted for the mild spicy broth while keeping it as a single base. I’m glad I did. In Chongqing, no one ever asked me, the broth was always noticeably spicier and I didn’t mind. But considering I had several hours of driving ahead, the mild version turned out to be the perfect choice for the situation.
To make the experience even more authentic, I would suggest a few small improvements: Replace the clearly Western background music with some modern Chinese pop. Allow guests to pay at the table — in China I never had to walk up to the counter to pay. Provide better-quality chopsticks, ideally with textured anti-slip tips. It’s important especially for European customers who don’t use them regularly. The service fee feels more like a Hungarian custom than a Chinese one. It would be more fitting to incorporate it into the menu prices.
Unlike some other reviewers, I don’t find the pricing excessive. Yes, it’s a bit more expensive than comparable hot pot restaurants in China — but the difference is entirely understandable.
The location is also a big plus — I combined my visit with a quick stop at the Chinese market next door, and even had time to play a few rounds of Chinese pool within...
Read moreOne of the best if not the best Chinese HotPot in Budapest. The place is very authentic and has an amazing atmosphere. The staff is really friendly and attentive. The 3 flavors hotpot base is a genius idea, we got classic chicken broth, thai lime and spicy one. Be aware the spicy base is really spicy. There is a vast selection of ingredients you can choose from for the hotpot, lots of options to make your own dipping sauce and the drinks are good too. Milk Tea and Mango Tea are our favorites. As for ingredients, everything is fresh and of high quality. Highly recommend getting wagyu beef, lamb, baby octopus, fish balls, tofu puffs, some veggies like shimeji mushrooms, lettuce and last but not least the homemade noodles. The only thing that we didn’t like was the lotus roots, even after cooking it for a long time it stayed tasteless and hard to chew. The prices are quite high but absolutely worth it. We will definitely come back again as it’s an experience not...

They have huge portions, three stocks, free dipping sauces, which you can build and a plethora of items on the menu. I recommend the beef and lamb (of course) and to try all three stocks. For me some items very inedible but the trying is part of the experience, although I don’t recommend the yuba rolls and the seaweed, if you haven’t already tried. The dessert options are bad to be honest, only one item and not really good, but you don’t really go here for the dessert. But the imported beer is great!
The place is really nicely decorated in a Classical Chinese style, really has a charm, it’s a few minutes walk from Kőbánya-alsó or you have other options like tram or bus.
The waiters are nice, but not really speak Hungarian, most speak English. The service is really fast, you order the items and almost instantly get delivered...
