Where to start? My husband and I, along with my parents, came to siofok to spending a nice weekend. We were so happy all day until we walked into the restaurant called calypso Étterem in the evening, We didn't book a table because it was the weekend. So we were told that we would have to wait 10-15 minutes before being seated outside. We said we didn't mind sitting inside and were seated across from the bar. After we ordered food and drinks for a while and the waiter came to service all the drinks very quickly. Then the waiter accidentally spilled a large pint of red cider all over on me, soaking my makeup and also my dress was wet and stained red. The waiter came with another pint and tissue paper to dry myself. But as it’s sticky so I have to go to bathroom to wash off, and try to get the red stain off also. But unfortunately, due to limited conditions, I could only wet the clothes and had no way to take it off and wash it, so I could only wait for the clothes to dry and see if there were any stains left on my light green dress. After eating I went to the old woman by the cashier to pay for the bill and told her I was worried about the red stains could not wash off and I would need to send it to the dry cleaning laundry as it’s quit expensive dress. The old lady as the restaurant owner told me she could not see any red stains. I could only say that if she is not blind, she could definitely see it. People who lie with open eyes are too disrespectful. Actually, I just wanted to complain only . After see her attitude, no way I come to have a meal and get soaked been treated like this way. I asked her to take 20% off my bill as I need to pay for the laundry and I would like to teach her the lesson: As the person in charge of this restaurant, you need to bear the damage caused to the consumer by your waiter's mistake. She should not be treated like this for choosing your restaurant. If you had taken responsibility earlier and asked me if I had any requests because your waiter poured the cider all over me, I would have told you that it was not worth mentioning. Everyone...
Read moreThe whole experience was quite average. The staff seemed untrained and a bit inefficient, but they were kind and friendly. The food arrived relatively quickly, but the quality was mediocre. We tried the beef stew with nokedli — the nokedli were somewhat bland and oddly sweet, which was a bit underwhelming. The stew itself was okay, but the sauce could have used more seasoning. The beef was tender but lacked depth of flavour. Although the food doesn’t particularly stand out, the portion sizes are generous, and for the general price level in Siófok, you get a fair deal. One thing that was quite off-putting was the music. While it was calm most of the time, they occasionally played aggressive electronic tracks that completely disrupted the relaxed harbour dinner atmosphere. If you know what to order, you might still have a nice experience here, but overall, it’s nothing...
Read moreStaff and service of the restaurant are correct, although they could be more welcoming to foreign guests (most speak English and some German too)! After showing interest ourselves they were really nice and communicative, which made our stay in the accommodation upstairs much more enjoyable. The food came out quickly. Menu choice + prices are also excellent. Very good quality ingredients, good portions and very tasteful food. We've had the best Beef Fillets ever! We normally only eat dinner at our hotel just after arrival, but now we had dinner here 5 out of the 6 nights we've stayed here.
Advice 1: When dining later in the evening, make sure the staff keeps the coffee machine on + don't put away the ice cream, otherwise no coffee, no dessert to finish your meal with. Good báckground music makes conversation possible. A well earned score of 9.5...
