Adria Cafe — Restaurant in Szentendrei járás

A gem in Szentendre, it’s off the main square so casual visitors might miss it and promise of ‘Adriatic/ Greek/ Mediterranean’ cuisine in this area might seem odd in a small Hungarian village. However it was the best meal I’ve had in Szentendre, better than tourist frequented spots, and it was all fresh, not heavy nor greasy, good for meat eaters and vegetarians both. The menu was big, but everything we tried was well done, well priced , and made us want to go back (we’ve been back a few times now).

Outdoor seating is chill, not fancy or special, but comfortable and tree covered, with nice views of the village around , and good fast service. 👍👍

We ordered a mixed platter with a variety of grilled meats, creamy dips, fresh pita, and a crisp Greek salad — every bite was delicious. The tzatziki was one of the best I’ve had, the grilled halloumi and meat skewers were perfectly cooked, and the red pepper spread was packed with flavor. I had a really lovely experience here. The staff were incredibly kind and understanding — I mistakenly ordered a pineapple juice thinking it was homemade, and when it arrived in a bottle already opened, I explained that I was hoping for something homemade and sugar-free. The waitress was very helpful and patient, guiding me to a suitable alternative with a smile. The atmosphere is calm and quiet, with a beautiful view that makes it a relaxing place to enjoy a meal.
