Okay, maybe it was not a good idea to eat a traditional Hungarian goulash in Greek restaurant, but they do have Hungarian dishes part in their menu. Finally we got goulash, which is a meat soup, with 1 (literally) small piece of meat in it. And by small I mean REALLY small, about 1x1 cm. We also had a fish soup, nothing special, but at least there was some fish in it. Combined with the pieces of fish skin. Also beef with dumplings, was okay. I would not say any dish we have tried costs its price. As it comes to waiters, during the lunch it was neither a constant attention, nor the total ignorance, but at the end they did their best that we would leave with the worst impression ever, by leaving us waiting for the bill for half an hour. In total with two reminders and that the waiter after 20 minutes first time came without a bank terminal (although was told about a bank card at the beginning, and then disappeared for the next 10 minutes, we have been waiting for a bill the same time we were waiting for food. Do not recommended, pure waste of money and time. They did not even apologize. Just for the full picture - our waiter pretended it was very...

Kid wanted some crépes. There were crépes on the menu. We went in and ordered 'em, the low-motivated waiter to whom this job clearly caused physical pain told us there were no crépes in the restaurant-section, only at the canteen section, he can get us some chocolate cake. So we ordered that one. It took 'em a little less than 20 mins to serve it. When the time came to pay, waiters (there were three of them in the practically empty restaurant) avoided eye-contact like their life depended on it. Finally I managed to get the bill, it's a pity the waiter also shouted the total amount at us for the whole restaurant to hear (not that it would have been a secret, but still: it is uncivilised.) Then I was told that notes and coins of lower values are appreciated because they might not be able to give me back. I gave some lower-value money, also tipped the waiter for the lousy service with the customary 10%, which he turned into 15% by...
Read moreIt was +35 C on a summer night. To my experiences in Hungary, restaurant staff seems to have a different definition of what is cold than western Europe's has. Before I ordered I asked the waitress if they have any Ice cubes, she answered - naturally, with a bit of attitude ( it made me feel a bit stupid) I ordered a bottle of white wine, since I was by myself I asked to have an Ice bucket as well with it. She said Naturally. She put the wine with the Ice bucket on the table and left. The white wine was warm, the water in the bucket was warm and without ice. Since most restaurants in Szentendre serves hot food on a cold plate. I ordered a salad dish. The salad was served on a hot plate. When I was paying the bill ,She told me she does not haven change. When I offered to come back the next day, when the banks open she suddenly find the change. The whole dinner was an...
