Oliva Étterem — Restaurant in Veszprémi járás

For starters, this is no review for the hotel(s) but of the restaurant on the 1st floor of the multistorey main building. I passed Oliva a few times the recent years and the evening enterieur of the Mediterranean court's been very inviting. So i booked a table after i studied the card to try this high profile city place. For practical reasons, on a workday and we went mainly for the daily offers. The Good: friendly staff, nice service, nice atmosphere especially when at a table in the shadow in lunchtime, clean toailets, a few reserved parking places. The Chinese noodles and the pistachio Profiteroles were ok. The Bad: i ordered kinda stew (Brassói, which is fried) but got a quite different meal (kinda ragu which was rather steamed or cooked) what i dont like at all. So i tried to enjoy the fried potatoes like in a beach bar ... Also the pickles were really mass produced can ones, no joy at all. Then, the soda water came w/ little bubbles and just a very few bits of ice and a tiny bit of lemon. Another unpleasant experience were the seats. Yes, the iron seats got very hard small tubes exactly where u (would) lean back. The missing info on the ingredients like oil or flour type, A2 diary etc. wishful thinking beyond the veggie mantra. So we escaped for the coffee to a nearby bar to enjoy a doppio and a Coke together to recover from the lunch...

A veszprémi Oliva Étterem az egyik kedvenc helyünk, ahová újra és újra szívesen térünk vissza – és ez nem véletlen.

A környezet egyszerűen lenyűgöző. Az étterem belső tere és terasza is rendkívül igényesen van kialakítva, minden részlet harmonikusan illeszkedik egymáshoz. A hangulat kellemes, nyugodt, tökéletesen alkalmas egy romantikus vacsorához vagy egy családi ebédhez is.

Az ételek kiválóak. Minden fogás ízletes, friss alapanyagokból készül, és érezhető, hogy a konyhán nagy gondot fordítanak a minőségre. Az étlap nem túlzsúfolt, de kellően változatos, hogy mindenki találjon kedvére valót – legyen szó húsos, vegetáriánus vagy épp különlegesebb ízeket kereső vendégről.

A kiszolgálás első osztályú. A felszolgálók figyelmesek, udvariasak és kedvesek, mindig készek segíteni vagy ajánlani valamit az étlapról. A vendégek valóban érezhetik, hogy fontosak – ez az a fajta vendéglátás, amit manapság egyre ritkábban tapasztalni.

Az étteremhez tartozó hotel is kimagasló színvonalú. Új, tiszta, rendezett, és minden részlete azt tükrözi, hogy valóban odafigyelnek a vendégek kényelmére. Ez is hozzájárul ahhoz, hogy évről évre visszatérjünk ide.

Összességében az Oliva Étterem és Hotel egy igazi gyöngyszem Veszprém szívében – tökéletes helyszín egy emlékezetes étkezéshez vagy egy kellemes kikapcsolódáshoz....

Great ambiance and service, some exceptional dishes (beetroot risotto with mushrooms amd the panna cotta with rice icecream and red currant), the rest of our picks were also solid good. I also liked that the portions were not your crazy big Hungarian sizes and I felt satisfied after a main and half a dessert but not stuffed. The only reason for the 4 stars is some items being a little overpriced in my opinion...
