What an amazing surprise to find a traditional family owned Icelandic bakery serving delicious vegan treats! While they are not an all vegan bakery, they do have a wide variety of vegan baked goods- up to 17 different kinds! Everything we tried was delicious. We had some delicious Icelandic Cinnamon Rolls called Snúður, some breads and other delicious pastries. They are conveniently located a few minutes from the Blue Lagoon. The family is so dedicated, that despite surviving an earthquake and volcanic eruption, and having to move about an hour away from the bakery, they are still serving their delicious handmade baked goods. Great coffee and pastries for me and my family (first stop in Iceland after our flight on 25.10.23 before visiting the Blue Lagoon). The bakery also had the friendliest staff and told us of the earthquakes that had just started that morning which led to subsequent events. Very sorry to learn of the evacuation of Grindavik due to eruption risk shortly after our visit but - hoping the town can return to some sort of normality soon - this bakery is superb and deserves a visit! A fantastic bakery. Worth the drive down from Reykjavík. They make wonderful customised birthday cakes. I needed a cake which was lactose free and they obliged. They're also very accommodating, in that we had some email discussions regarding which cake would be best and they were very kind and helped me pick the one with no allergens.
