Krydd Restaurant — Restaurant in Hafnarfjordur

So I planned to go out on sunday evening and eat dinner here. We didn’t order table so I called restaurant around 8pm and asked if there are some vacancies. Person with who I talked told me that yes there is free tables but only if I am ready to order one meal because soon they are closing kitchen. Restaurant page says that place closes at 10pm so I guess kitchen closes at 9pm. I personally work in a place where we serve food and I have to serve customer whatever he wants until kitchen is actually closed. Doesn’t metter if it is an hour or 5 min to closing. When I texted restaurant on facebook my message was just seen and I never got answer how it is. So today I sent an email and finally got some answers. The answer though was that yes kitchen closes at 9pm but still I should be served so it is mistake of a person working there. Another question was why was I ignored on facebook. Email said that people working there were drinking alcohol and they can not answer after a drink. I think that this is not professional or even polite to answer customers email like that. I do not recommend this place or I mean you can go there if you want to be served just one meal :). (Not sure if they would serve me one meal or my friend as well). Big...

Had a 4 course meal. The service was excellent, prices were good in comparison with service, taste and excellency.

The meal started with carpaccio wich was very good but I thought the meat itself lacked flavour even though the sauce, cheese and all the other flavours were excellent.

The main course was arctic char with seasonal root vegetables and barley. I found the fish a little bit too dry but everything else tasted good and when put together was very good and balanced.

The third course was a cheese plate covered with honey and had different types of crackers. I am a great fan of cheese and enjoy cheese in general and I found everything tasted very good.

As a self-appointed burger aficionado, from the Dairy and cattle heartland of the USA, I an undoubtedly say that Krydd has not only the BEST, but the two best burgers I have ever had the pleasure of trying. Both the vegetarian burger and the standard burger had a rich, deep flavor that is unmatched. The service is impeccable - our server was great, and the GM Soffia is amazing. She took every spare moment between managing customers to help us find excursions and to help us plan our stay in Iceland for our honeymoon. She was so kind and we will definitely be coming back again not only this trip, but with friends and family in the future....
