Wow! The food here truly exceeded our expectations!! The fish was so fresh, well cooked, deliciously seasoned, and plentiful!

One member of our party had the fish of the day which was wolf fish and arctic char and a few of us had the fried salted cod which our waiter said was his favorite dish on the menu - it did not disappoint!!

The staff were so professional and responsible with a family member's food allergies. We had contacted them ahead of time to see if they could accommodate her and they remembered upon our arrival and were ready to recommend dishes that would be safe for her. It made a world of difference for us.

I had one of my most memorable meals in Iceland at Von Mathús. The Fish of the Day was absolutely perfect — fresh, flavorful, and beautifully cooked. I also tried one of their signature cocktails… I forgot the exact name (something like Von-something?) but it was amazing — highly recommend it with the meal!

The cozy vibe, friendly staff, and the fact that I seemed to be the only tourist made it feel like I had found a true local gem. I’d definitely go back if I ever return to this area.
