I was recommended this place as the best spot in town for vegetarian food. However, my experience was quite disappointing. Upon arrival, I found the place to be shabby and overpriced, with a staff that seemed indifferent to the customers. The service was incredibly slow, and the staff was far from welcoming, which immediately set a negative tone for the meal. Although the food itself was decent, it did not justify the high prices. The disparity between the quality of the food and the cost was stark, making it hard to see the value in dining there. The high pricing combined with the subpar service and uninviting atmosphere left much to be desired. I would strongly recommend that the management re-evaluate their pricing strategy and focus on improving their service. A more attentive and welcoming staff, along with reasonable prices, could significantly enhance the overall dining experience. While the food has potential, the overall experience was marred by these significant shortcomings. In conclusion, while the food at this restaurant was satisfactory, the high prices, poor service, and lackluster ambiance detracted from what could have been a great dining experience. Addressing these issues could make it a top choice for vegetarian dining in town, but as it stands, I cannot recommend it based on my experience.

One of the most popular veg restaurants at Port Blair. Whenever you search for restaurants at Port Blair, Annapurna Cafeteria will come in the top lists. During our vacation on Andaman we searched for top restaurants and then came to know about Annapurna Cafeteria. Location wise this place is easy to assess. This place is located at Aberdeen bazar which is the main market place of this area. They named the restaurant as pure veg but they use onion and garlic so for us (for Bengalis') this is not the kind of pure veg which we usually eat during our fasting or on some purpose. Since this is a South Indian restaurant, maybe their pure veg concept is different from Bengali cuisine. But we can consider it a veg restaurant. The restaurant is most popular for its South Indian dishes but they also offer Chinese and North Indian dishes. We went for dinner there. We ordered chilli baby corn as a starter item and for the main course we ordered plain tandoor roti with a masroom gravy item. All the items were delicious. The ambience of this restaurant is average unlike the fancy well maintained cafeterias. It is simple and clean. The service is a bit slow. It may be because of the high rush there. Overall it's a good experience to visit there.

I made a bad decision to go to Annapoorna Cafeteria in Andaman today. I was actually fooled by their name, to be honest. Annapoorna is our Hindu goddess of food. Keeping such a divine name, these guys loot money from their customers. Look at my bill and how much they have charged for Onion Rava masala dosa... Just 2 items + one thali, the bill is Rs. 667.. Worst quality service and third rated staff... the manager is one irresponsible guy. In a Punjabi thali, they don't give paapad it seems, weird right? When I asked for paapad, they gave a paapad after 25 mins and all the oil from the kadai was in that only. I didn't even had the mood to take a picture of it. Such a pathetic service. The coconut chutney was as good as water, no other chutney was available. I then browsed through Google reviews and saw that many have very similar experience as mine. This place will shut down soon. Is there something less than one star review?

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Annapurna Veg Restaurant, and I must say it was a satisfying vegetarian culinary experience. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted by a warm and inviting ambiance. The restaurant had a pleasant and comfortable atmosphere, making it an ideal place for a relaxed meal.

Annapurna Veg Restaurant offers a diverse menu of vegetarian dishes, catering to a wide range of tastes and preferences. The menu featured an array of appetizers, main courses, and desserts, each prepared with care and attention to detail. The restaurant's commitment to vegetarian cuisine was evident in the variety and quality of the dishes they offered.

I particularly enjoyed the flavors and freshness of the food at Annapurna Veg Restaurant. The ingredients used in their preparations were of excellent quality, resulting in flavorful and wholesome dishes. Whether it was the aromatic spices in the curries or the vibrant assortment of vegetables in the stir-fries, each dish was a delightful combination of taste and texture.

The service at Annapurna Veg Restaurant was efficient and friendly. The staff members were attentive, offering recommendations and ensuring that all our needs were met. The waiting time for our food was reasonable, and the dishes were served hot and promptly. The restaurant's staff exhibited a genuine passion for vegetarian cuisine, which added to the overall dining experience.

The portion sizes were generous, providing great value for the price. The menu also included options for different dietary preferences, including vegan and gluten-free choices. This made Annapurna Veg Restaurant an inclusive and accommodating establishment for a variety of diners.

While the overall experience was highly enjoyable, there were a few areas that could be improved. The restaurant could benefit from expanding their dessert menu to offer more variety and creativity. Additionally, the seating arrangements could be more spacious to provide a more comfortable dining experience during peak hours.

In conclusion, Annapurna Veg Restaurant provided a satisfying vegetarian dining experience. The restaurant's commitment to vegetarian cuisine, flavorful dishes, friendly service, and inclusive menu options make it a noteworthy choice for vegetarian food enthusiasts. With a few minor improvements, it has the potential to become an even more exceptional dining destination. I would gladly return to Annapurna Veg Restaurant for another delicious...

Disappointing review of Annapurna Cafeteria:

Disappointing Experience at Annapurna Cafeteria I recently visited Annapurna Cafeteria in Aberdeen Bazaar, Port Blair, expecting a delightful dining experience. Unfortunately, my family and I were left with a bitter taste, both literally and figuratively.

Unhygienic Ambiance The moment we entered the restroom, we were appalled by the filthy conditions. The toilet was dirty, and there was no water available. The hand wash basin was also unhygienic, setting the tone for a disappointing meal.

Plastic in Food We ordered the Veg South Indian Thali, but our excitement was short-lived. As I took a few bites, I was horrified to find a piece of white plastic in my rice. The plastic was sharp enough to cut my mouth. I was shocked and immediately brought it to the attention of the staff.

Poor Service Although the staff apologized and offered to replace my food, the damage was already done. The new food was not much better, and we struggled to find something edible.

Subpar Food Quality The Veg South Indian Thali was a letdown. The food was tasteless, and the papad was dripping with oil. Even my children and wife, who are not picky eaters, couldn't finish their meals. We ended up leaving the food untouched.

Overpriced To add insult to injury, we were charged ₹740 for three Veg South Indian Thalis. Considering the poor quality of food and service, it was a complete rip-off.

Verdict Needless to say, I would not recommend Annapurna Cafeteria to anyone. Instead, I would suggest visiting Anju Coco, which offers better food and service. Annapurna Cafeteria needs to seriously revamp their kitchen, service, and hygiene standards to justify their prices and attract customers.
