Guwahati Heights — Restaurant in Assam

DISAPPOINTED 😞 AND FELT SICK RIGHT AFTER HAVING FOOD FROM HERE. PS: Anything which looks Fancy, won't necessarily be good always.

FROM 5 ⭐ i am changing it to 1 ⭐ (wouldn't have given that as well).

REVIEW 👇 CHILLI CHICKEN GRAVY: 0/5 (This is thing gave me and my friend's stomach upset. Not properly cooked Maida Coated chicken gravy 😭. Thankfully we didn't have after a bite)

FARMHOUSE PIZZA: 1.2/5 (Wasted money on this...Never had PIZZA this worthless... Burnt thin pizza base, layered with some Amul tasted cheese,topped with raw onion, capsicum,bell pepper, corn,some chewy mushrooms!!)

SPAGHETTI AGLIO OLIO: 3/5 (Breads were not even toasted and the Spaghetti was just boiled and mixed with some cheese topped with some oregano may be- Worst)

HAKKA NOODLES NON-VEG: 3.5/5 (The only from our order which was still considerable to eat and good tasted one, because ComeOn!! who makes Hakka noddles wrong..Also they didn't even bother to lit up the Candle of that fancy looking serving dishes.)

SIZZLING DIM SUMS:(The food we did not order): 4/5 (wasn't sizzling but tasted good) SERVICE: 000/5. Pathetic!!!Worst!! Felt personal, Because No one was assigned for our table, No one spoke to us properly. Not a simple Restaurant serving Etiquette. Even after pressing the button No one bothered to show up untill it was pressed multiple times. WHERE AS, other table had an assigned staff or they were going near each table and sweetly taking. First of all They served wrong order on our table, not served kept and went.Then we didn't eat that for much time and pressed the Waiter button 3times but no one showed up!! Also they had no idea only. After that they just kept the food on our table and went off. IDK WHAT ON EARTH WAS WRONG.WERE WE THE CHOOSEN ONE FOR BAD SERVICE!!!!!.. DISGUSTED FOOOD.!!!

When we confronted,the manager was polite enough to apologise but also gave a lame reason of our bad service 😕 was they have less staff(which i don't agree) and the owner wasn't there...like. What!!?? You won't work properly or serve good food if the restaurant owner isn't available!!!?!!!.. 😔 LIVE MUSIC: Toooo loud for a closed door ambience. People neither can enjoy the good music nor talk with each other. I am not a person who just simply put photos and a meaningless reviews. GUWAHATI HEIGHTS was really good when it was newly opened. But too much heights can bring you down they saw and that is what had happened. IF this place is awarded with Food award.Then I don't trust the organisation who awards Fancy places just by the ambience. Have had worst tasted food before but those didn't give me diarrhea like this one did.

Unfortunately, I did not have a good experience at the restaurant. The dishes I ordered - noodles, chop suey, and chili baby corn - were all excessively saucy and overseasoned, which made it difficult to enjoy the flavors of the ingredients.

Noodles: The noodles were cooked in a sauce that was too heavy and thick, making them feel too saucy and gloopy. The sauce also had a dominant tomato flavor, which didn't appeal to my taste buds. The dish was over-seasoned, which made it difficult to taste the subtle flavors of the other ingredients in the dish.

Chop Suey: The chop suey was over-sauced and over-seasoned, which masked the flavors of the vegetables and meat in the dish. The sauce was heavy and thick, and had a dominant tomato flavor, which didn't compliment the ingredients. The dish lacked balance and subtlety, making it difficult to appreciate the dish's flavors.

Chili Baby Corn: The chili baby corn was also over-sauced and over-seasoned. The sauce had a dominant tomato flavor instead of a spicy, tangy flavor that is usually associated with the dish. The dish lacked balance and subtlety, making it difficult to appreciate the flavors of the baby corn.

Service: The service at the restaurant was decent. The staff was courteous and friendly, and they took our orders promptly. However, the dishes were not up to par, and they seemed to lack the attention to detail that I would expect from a restaurant of this caliber.

Overall, I was disappointed with my experience at the restaurant. The dishes were excessively saucy and over-seasoned, which made it difficult to enjoy the flavors of the ingredients. While the service was good, the lack of attention to detail in the dishes was a letdown. I would not recommend this restaurant to others, and I'm unlikely to return...

Service - Where do I start?! To clean the tables and take our order they took 15 mins. I personally do not blame the two hardworking waiters who were waiting for 12 tables. But, I strongly believe you have free-riding staff who just were enjoying the show more than the customers and not helping the waiters in cleaning tables and taking orders. I had ordered Peri-Peri Fries, Fish and Chips, Iced Americano and Strawberry Shake. We waited over 45 mins for a Fish and Chip and Peri-Peri Fries. Service - 1.5/5

Food - The Peri-Peri Fries were underwhelming cold. I had seen it reach a different table and go back to the kitchen due to mismanagement by the staff. Even though it went back to the kitchen and then came back to our table it was missing Peri-Peri seasoning. Very underwhelming and no seasoning based fries. Fish and Chips were not served with Tartar sauce but rather a weak imitation of Tomato Ketchup. Please don't mention Tartar sauce in the menu if you don't provide it. Fish and Chips were above average nothing extraodrinary. Iced Americano was above average. The Strawberry Shake was the best food item that was served. Food - 2.8/5

Atmosphere - The only plus side of the Sunday evening in the cafe was the live music which catered to the Assamese audience. The live music took note of the festive occasion of Bihu and also sang a bit of few popular Bihu song. I also firmly believe that even though the live performance is an asset to Guwahati Heights, it is also a distraction to the few staff of the Bistro. Atmosphere - 4.1/5

Overall - 2/5. It was an okay experience for the first time to the Bistro. Food could have been more seasoned for a one hour-wait dinner and staff could have been more receptive and then surely the Bistro would...
