Let's start from the parking space, if you're taking a bike you're not gonna have a problem, if it's a car then yes. Next let's talk about the ambience, I'm gonna give a 5 star for that cuz it looked amazing. It was on a hot summer day so I did not sit outside. But the people that did seemed to enjoy the ambience (a lot of photoshoots gave that away) Now let's talk about FOOD and why I rated my 3 stars. At first we ordered the Irish Cream cold coffee which was amazing, I mean the first sip felt too good and that by far was the best part of our entire order. Next we ordered an appetizer- mini chicken sovlanki and a wood fired pizza- classic thin crust with 2 add-ons, bacon and mushroom. The first mistake that I would point out is not gonna bother the maximum of you i.e the appetizer came in at last. The second issue was the major 👎, the pizza, thin or thick whatever the crust, it shouldn't break, mine did, I didn't like the crust at all and it felt straight away hardened tawa roti. Next, the toppings, button mushrooms. If you are someone who knows your mushroom you know that button mushrooms have a certain part that needs to be removed after cutting it in half or else it gives away a pungent smell/taste. Also that part turns black when it gets old and inedible. We had that in our mushrooms. Someone would say that maybe it turned black cuz of the wood fire. No, firstly they installed a new oven that does not use wood but gives you the taste and secondly yes, maybe it's burnt but you don't serve burnt food. Next for a thin crust the things that come on top should be more. But the amount of cheese and bacon were so less. I did like the taste of the bacon though although it was not crispy, another problem. Definitely gonna rate the worst pizza I've had. Next about the appetizer. It had pitta and the dip (pitta was not pitta but roti and the dip was so sour), a salad (no complaints) and skewered roasted chicken which was tender and tasty and we really did enjoy that. So the only good things I had were the coffee and the chicken. And I had to pay more than 1k for that which I think was also not worth it. So that's the reason for my 3 stars. So if you're going there my suggestion would be to get the drinks and the meat, roasted chicken to be particular. Other than that, you're definitely gonna get some good...
Read moreEverything that shines isn't gold, apparently what looked like a quality joint on social media was complete filter-laden trash in reality.
Ambiance: The interior is outdated, furniture uncomfortable and the open brick walls gives the vibe of a New York boxing gym rather than a cafe. It was peak summer and there was no air conditioning! The fans were barely effective in terms of cooling but surely blew an entire pack of chilli flakes to my face from the pizza. Did I mention the signt of cleaning clothes and underwear drying behind the bar?!
Food: If the Instagram ads wooed you, congratulations you aren't alone to end up in feeling desolate and bereft. The star attraction- wood fired pizza wasn't available so we got the same oven-made. And for the sake of lord these blokes added holy basil for the lack of Italian basil! It took me all the way from a gym and sauna to the vibes of a temple and back to the trash cafe. The bold claims of "self made mozzarella" was quickly shattered as we witnessed boxes of wholesale Go Pizza cheese (which itself is a blend) followed by the chef grating the same out of a pack. Somehow the main course arrived before starters. Also, the mushroom on the pizza was stale! I'd have locked up the place as I left if I were a health and safety inspector!
Additionally, the menu cards were old, filthy and damaged, either you bear the super hot interior (literally) or die of cancer from passive smoking or malaria from mosquitos taking a cooler open balcony table.
This place needs a serious shot of sense in the arm. Social media popularity has given the joint an unhealthy sense of security and fame as the quality deteriorates and standards fall.
One thing I've certainly leared, never believe self-made ads on Instagram if you want to go eat somewhere in Guwahati. Remove filters and reality isn't as pleasing. The place certainly had a good history, but with time it looks like a place run by barely motivated staff than a...
