I've visited and placed orders at this restaurant many times. I hope my review will be helpful for new visitors.
The restaurant is exactly in Thana Chariali and exactly opposite the thana (police station). Most probably, there are tables upstairs too, but I haven't tried going there yet. I think those tables are mostly preferred by couples and families.
The ambience of the space in the ground floor is not suitable for families, couples or even friends who want to go there for a cosy evening meal to spend some quality time because it's congested, noisy, dark and not so visually appealing for that desirable feeling. It's not a place to click pictures. I can't say how it's upstairs as I haven't gone there. It accepts online app payments too.
I've had chicken pulao, chicken biryani, chilli chicken dry, chicken dry fry, chicken fried rice and liver dry fry from this restaurant. I've liked its chicken pulao the most. In fact, I can say I've loved it. Its chicken biryani is Rs. 10 costlier than its chicken pulao. Obviously, biryani will cost more than pulao, but the chicken pulao of this restaurant is more than its biryani. The pulao (see the attached photo to believe) looks and tastes more like biyani than pulao. In fact, it's better than the biryani with its rich colour and sweet taste.
The chicken biryani too is fine, though nothing so special. Then I'd rate the liver dry fry, chicken fried rice and chilli chicken together, and, lastly, the chicken dry fry in the order of quality and taste. I'm attaching photos of only chicken pulao and chicken fried rice because I don't have photos of the other dishes now. I'll try to add them when I try them or any other new dish.
Once I got a plate of basmati rice packed to eat at home, but I was pleasantly surprised to get veg fried rice. I am not sure what dish it was exactly, but I think it was veg or mixed veg fried rice. That was really great in taste, looks, quality and quantity for the price. Maybe they gave it to me by mistake or there was no plain basmati rice.
The dishes are economic with their reasonable rates. You'll also like the green chutney paste of this restaurant. The only thing I didn't like is the restaurant doesn't send any spoon and fork with its orders. It's very inconvenient and annoying when you are not at home and receive an order without any means to eat except...
Read moreHad a very bad experience. 😡 Ordered for lunch, Veg Thali. The food came all cold including the rice, sabzi, and all other things. The only thing that seemed hot and fresh was the Dal. When asked to the staff/waiter about why the food served was cold then he said “Moi ki korim, thanda din porise, bostu thanda hoboe” (What shall I do, winter has approached, things (food) will be cold only). How unprofessional was that statement! That means they serve food to the customers according to season and time! They didn’t even bother to at least heat the rice in a cooker or something like that. Also, no one came even for a single time to ask if we needed something like dal or sabzi. Couldn’t eat that food, and so had to leave. Also, when complained to the person sitting at the reception/counter about the quality of the food and the bad experience he didn’t even acknowledge their mistake and didn’t even say a word. Never have I been to seen such a hotel/restaurant with such behaviour and attitude of the staff. Extremely unprofessional, not...
Read moreIf you're looking for a traditional and authentic Biriyani experience, I would highly recommend looking elsewhere. Ryan's Kitchen serves a disgrace to the dish, calling it Biriyani when it's nothing more than a sweet and unbalanced Pulao.
To begin with, the dish is not made with birista (fried onions), which is crucial for both flavor and aroma. The rice is not cooked to perfection and lacks any real fragrance. The meat is dry and overcooked, and the dish as a whole left me with an upset stomach for two days.
Furthermore, the wait time for a dish that was far from worth it was a long 55 minutes.
In short, Ryan's Kitchen's Biriyani is a complete disappointment and I would advise anyone looking for a quality Biriyani experience to steer clear. It's not even close to a decent Biriyani, it's a sweet Pulao. A...
