Finally we have something strong and rigid near the mighty river Brahmaputra, earlier people of the riverside always had a fear from being washed out by the water of Brahmaputra, now they are fearless and all are happy, Good job done by the authority, it has multiple use- can be used as morning & evening walk, cycling and jogging, the air is so fresh and cool one can sit their for a whole day. But the main role need to play by the public now, government has made the dyke but we need to keep it clean and green, I've noticed people do litter the surroundings with papers, cups, plastic bag-glass-cups-bottles, there have some small dustbins but they are of no use, some of them are damaged and some of them are not in usable condition. One suggestion to authority to install at least one CCTV to monitor everything, Unless and until you dont take any strict decision, people are not...

I recently visited Dibrugarh, and was spending time near the Brahmaputra River. The location, which sits right by the river, offers a serene and peaceful environment that truly connects you to nature.

The area is beautifully maintained, with the cool breeze from the river adding to the calm ambiance. The view of the river is absolutely breathtaking, especially during sunset when the sky and water blend in shades of gold and pink. Itโ€™s a perfect spot to relax, reflect, or even take a peaceful walk along the riverbank.

What I loved most was the sense of tranquility. The sound of the flowing river and the open space around you makes it feel like a little escape from the busy world. Itโ€™s not just a place to visit, but a place to experience Dibrugarhโ€™s natural beauty...

After the earthquake of 1950, most of the part of Dibrugarh town was eroded away by the Brahmaputra river and caused severe floods causing immense damage to life and property. It was then that the DTP Dyke was constructed by the Govt. of Assam to protect the Dibrugarh Town in the year 1954-55. Since its first construction in the early 50's, there has been no major maintenance works carried out and it was in a very dilapidated state. The DTP Dyke is very important as it is protecting the Dibrugarh Town, Assam Medical College and its adjoining areas from severe floods. Therefore, the works of raising and strengthening of DTP Dyke for a length of 8.5 km was taken up under Tranche-I by FREMAA, funded by ADB. The works started in 2013-14 and was completed in...

Quite astrounding place. I always visit this place in the evng to feel the sunset, the cold breeze that whisper something in your ear. I have lot memories here. We three used to go there and have chilled beers to overcome the tensions and hectic schedules of life. You will feel fresh, natural and nostalgic. Its a place where u can extend your imagination to make yourself more creative. And also you get a chance to meet new people coming out for jogging. :D But one request to all, please dont through plastic, dont spit on the road, its your place, so we all are accountable to make it clean. Have fun and Thank you. Do visit DTP DYKE if u ever come to Dibrugarh. Joi aai axom.

Great place to visit during โค A place where you can sit and find peace, while the wind blowing would touch your face and mind. You can also see people by the side making diyas with clay, making potteries, various clay works and keeping them to dry on the another side. Mostly people visit here with friends and family too. You would also see college crowd by there. Downstairs beside the road near Dyke you will also found thelas holding icecream, gola , chana, jhaal muri, bhutta wala in seasons. I also got to see a different kind of goat๐Ÿ˜… I went there with cousins , had a better time there.

One of the best place to get sunrise & sunset view from the banks of the Mighty Brahmaputra river. It is the major tourist attraction site of Dibrugarh located quite nearby the city centre. The DTP Dyke View point is the most popular and busiest spot of the entire DTP Dyke and is quite busy during early mornings and in the evenings as people gather here to get a glimpse of the setting or the rising Sun. You can get the best view anytime on the banks of river Brahmaputra but you would not like to miss the Sunrise & Sunset view from here.
