Shree Nawab Restaurant, Club Road — Restaurant in Assam

It was a mixed experience on my Mother-in-law's birthday. The food was good, however we had to wait for a very very long time for the food to arrive even though the restaurant wasn't that crowded. The starter came...then instead of the second starter...one main course came .. And then the starter came and we actually had to request for the biryani and cold drinks several times before they came..all the while the other food went cold. The table we were sitting at was very near to another table and wasn't that comfortable.. Anyways we had our food, paid via PTM, heard the voice message confirming our payment and came down. To top the tiresome evening, when we were coming back home, and couldn't even reach the gates of the restaurant, a confident waiter comes running towards us and says.. Sir, apne pay nahi kiya. Embarrased as people watched us in the middle of the road, my husband showed them the confirmation message. The waiter runs back.. Not even a sorry on his lips. So overall, what we really wanted to enjoy because we had heard so much about this place turned into embarrassing and tiresome...

Yesterday night we went there for having biriyani. Nawab special biriyani price was 279 or nearby. We asked the waiter is it enough for the two people to having one plate. So he replied it's depends how much quantity people will eat. If you want you one more half plate which will cost 160. That time we got doubts. We decided let's have the one plate it will be less will order for one more. After few they served the biriyani. By seeing the biriyani we got surprise. Quality too much less one person. Mainly this rice was yellow with chicken gravy. Biriyani these cheese and all. Please don't go waste your money. If you need to spend 500 for biriyani in other places go. Not to that place. We felt we paid for chicken chicken gravy rice. They served raita after completing food. Mainly they served chicken biriyani on fish plate we used to get in thali system hotel. So can imagine quality..bad experience Might be owner is not understanding what is my concern.my concern is in name of biryani they served chicken...

Let me start by saying they need to expand the dining area. Its so small. Have only tried biriyani. Tried bamboo biriyani but i much prefer the nawab special biriyani. Nothing to complain on the food. Its as it should be. Good job nawab.

But i have some issues with the ambience of the place. Firstly The lighting inside the hall is not pleasant at all. Its obnoxious. They need to change the red lights. Looks like a unprofessional bar. Secondly, since the dining space is so less the sound system's loose bass turns out to be very disturbing. Please guys turn the bass to 0 (volume and bass are different thing) and reduce the volume to a minimum such that the music doesn't overlap the conversation of your customers.
