Read moreI’m guessing the food tastes good based on the other reviews, well I will never know. I canceled all the orders and walked out yesterday. I’m better off taking my business elsewhere and not make my 4 yr old to sit there and wait for half n hr or more for a dessert and also to save myself from embarrassment. One of the worst experience with the service. There are 3 incidents which I would like to highlight. After getting a table I had to wait 10-15 minutes to get a menu , I had to ask for the menu after some time with all the waiters being so busy. I guess this is still not a problem. They are severely under staffed. And the person who was taking the order he took the order from other tables promptly without being called for, but even after me calling out to take the order, he asked me to wait for few minutes and he will be there to take my order. After the mentioned few minutes he completely ignored the table I was at and started taking the order from the table who arrived after me. It was embarrassing to face this. After this I had to call other waiter to take the order. One of the order was brownie for my 4 year old. I requested if the brownie could be served a little sooner as my son was getting very fussy and he agreed. Customers who arrived after me started getting their orders and still I did not even get the brownie. I lost my patience after waiting for 15 more minutes. I cancelled all the orders...

I walked into 1947 expecting a premium dining experience that would justify its premium price tag. Unfortunately, value and quality rarely found their way to my table.
The lowlights
Basmati rice (₹180) Two meagre handfuls, dry as day-old leftovers and clearly re-steamed just to look “fresh.” For that price I expected fluffy, fragrant grains—not reheated scraps.
Subji ka Kofta & Stuffed Paratha The kofta felt partially uncooked, and the paratha tasted suspiciously like the same kofta mixture had been shoved inside it. Reusing fillings is fine if the food shines, but here it only highlighted how corner-cut the kitchen felt.
Dal Tadka (₹360!) “Tadka” means tempered spices—but there was no sizzle of ghee, no aroma of cumin, nothing. It was the plainest dal I’ve had in years; many street-side stalls ladle out better for a tenth of the cost.
The (only) highlight
Gravy I have to give credit where it’s due: the base gravy used in several dishes was genuinely excellent—rich, balanced, and well-seasoned. If the rest of the meal matched that depth, this review would read very differently.
Bottom line
Pricey menu, stingy portions, and execution that ranges from mediocre to disappointing. Even if someone offers to treat me here, I’ll politely pass and suggest they spend their money elsewhere. Unless 1947 overhauls its quality control, I can’t...
