Adyar Ananda Bhavan - A2B — Restaurant in Bengaluru

Have been to this place couple of times to have dosa n kesari bath etc . On my last visit or recent visit I noticed few things which were a complete disappointment. The kesari bhath was old n not freshly made it was probably a day or two old which was reheated n given . The rava was hard in texture and like lumps . The fresh ones are soft n melt in mouth type this was clearly old stock . Secondly they had closed service in Ac n had to do self service for which they took 20 mins to give 2 items dosa n kesari bhath. On leaving after meal the woman who cleans the table came rushing to pick up plates n stood there in expectations of tip for no reason . Absolutely absurd that to clean the table they now expect us to tip them which we didn't encourage n left. Secondly they have put a security guard recently to guide cars which come n Park near their restaurant. So we parked our car correctly but to get some tips while we leave he opened the door n told us to park car little back n forth. Just for this much he jumped to the car when we were leaving to get tips. Feel so irritated that tips have become such a nuisance nowadays that we are forced upon by such people for doing no work . It's not just this restaurant but be it other restaurants too wherever there is a guard they stand next to u n stare until u feel obliged to tip them . Such behavior should be stopped by restaurants as it spoils our experience to visit again . Also the food given must be freshly made as we ended having diarrhea after eating old stale food which was reheated thinking customers...

Visited this spacious A2B outlet on the Outer Ring Road and had a pleasant dining experience overall.

The restaurant is notably large with ample seating, making it a good choice for both families and groups. Despite being part of the A2B chain, the food here is distinctly tailored to local Bangalore tastes, which I found to be a nice touch.

I never thought about giving a one rating to our favorite restaurant A2B. Wherever we travel, we always search for A2B. Even we drove extra 10-20 Kms just for A2B. My family was so comfortable with the quality taste and cleanliness of A2B. But today(16-Feb-2019) it completely turned up to be a mess. The food what we had was missing the A2B touch. Ghee dosa was tasting just like normal dosa, chappathi was just like normal road side chappathi, we missed the triangle or square shaped chappathi with multiple layers, with full ghee. Not sure whether A2B started compromising on quality and taste ???.. This is not the reason for my one rating. My kids ordered ice cream, first my son got a piece of plastic paper in it. In few minutes my daughter also got a small piece of plastic paper. Staffs really don’t have an answer. Called manger and shown him the plastic papers. Even he has no answer. Not sure how many more pieces of plastic papers are still there in the ice cream bowl ?? My children are little grown up, they were able to identify this plastic paper, think of 2-3 year old kids..
