Read moreHaving visited this place earlier and even ordered from here, took my family friend with high expectations for his farewell dinner - only to come back disappointed and angry. The food was okay however the service was so poor and unprofessional that we totally forgot about the food. We reached the place around quarter to 10 and had placed order for starters and drinks. Soon after the drinks we also ordered for the main course which came later than expected. One of the staff came at our table for the “last order” at 10:45. We placed the order for their simplest dessert. In the middle of us having our main course, the staff came and started asking if they could bring the dessert - which was sizzling brownie!! How can a reasonable human being want people to stuff their mouth and stomach forcefully with noodles and risotto and also eat the dessert!??? And if you don’t want guests after 10, then why take orders at 10:45?? just to expand bills and earn profits?? We were so rushed in eating and leaving that all basic mannerism of treating guests was forgotten! Nobody even treats an animal this way when they eat - let alone customers of a hospitality industry! The staff and the manager was so rude and arrogant and disrespectful that they wasted no time in arguing and shrugging their shoulders, smirking and dismissing everything that was pointed out. The strangest part was that after we pointed out to the manager about the lack of training and professionalism in his staff - we were told around 11:15 that our brownie was not ready (even though we were asked in the middle of our main course if the same can be served to us that time!) The food was ready then but after us ponting out the rude behaviour of the staff to the manager somehow it wasn’t ready by 11:15 and then we were forced to cancel and leave. It was the worst experience ever and not only will I never go to this place which is not a loss for me honestly, but I’ll ensure none of the people I know visit this godforsaken place! The manager was one of the most arrogant and disrespectful person I have had to meet and talk to. No one will remember the food if the service is so dismal. So many reviews about poor service but nothing has been done to improve anything it seems.
For food - only the risotto rice and leek cigar roll was worth eating. Everything else was...
Read moreWe are regular visitors to this restaurant. As usual, we ordered two portions of broccoli almond soup to be split among three people, with each bowl priced at ₹275. However, the amount of soup provided in each bowl was noticeably less than half a serving. When we raised this concern with the manager, he insisted that the total quantity across all bowls would equal two full portions. We challenged this claim and demonstrated that the combined amount didn't even add up to one and a half bowls. Incredibly, the manager then argued that a single serving of soup isn't meant to be a full bowl, which was an absurd justification for the shortfall. Considering the premium price of ₹275 per bowl, this explanation was unacceptable. After some back and forth, the manager finally agreed to increase the quantity to a fair level
Advice to Restaurant Management:
It's crucial to ensure that customer satisfaction is at the heart of your service. In the incident described, the primary issue stemmed from a mismatch between the quantity of soup served and customer expectations, compounded by poor communication from the manager. Here are some key points for improvement:
Transparency in Portion Sizes: Clearly communicate portion sizes to customers upfront. If a portion is smaller than expected, explain this transparently on the menu or when the order is placed to avoid confusion and dissatisfaction later.
Consistent Serving Standards: Ensure that the portions served are consistent with what is promised and what the price reflects. Charging ₹275 per bowl creates an expectation of receiving a full and substantial portion.
Train Staff on Handling Complaints: It’s important that your staff, particularly managers, handle complaints professionally and courteously. Arguing with customers is detrimental to the reputation of your hotel. Instead, train managers to listen carefully, empathize, and offer solutions that reflect the establishment’s commitment to quality and service.
Focus on Customer Retention: In this case, immediately adjusting the quantity without argument would have left a much...
