Amma's Pastries — Restaurant in Bengaluru

I usually buy cakes from Just bake or Samovor. At first when I visited Amma's Pastries, the cakes appeared so normal like how they look in the local bakeries. As if that wasn't enough, the cost of the cake was also very less which put me to think if I am in the right place. For a moment I thought is this place like Amma hotel in Tamilnadu where you get subsidised food similar to Indira Canteen in Bangalore 🤔 I was so relecutant before placing the order and honestly thought twice, thrice don't know how many times, if I should go and buy from a different place. That's when a courteous lady staff arrived with a Tab and asked me what would I like to order. I looked at the cakes displayed in the showcase once again and asked what flavours were those as all of them looked the same with white cream on top. The differentiation was just a barely visible small band of Color like Peach for Litchi, Yellow for Pineapple, Blue for Blueberry, Pink for strawberry etc. and ofcourse the chocolate was was completely brown. Well, by now I had spent over 5 min here so I somehow made-up my mind and ordered a half kg Litchi cake which costed me less than Rs 250 (as against Rs 450 in Just bake and Rs 750 to Rs 1500 in Samovor). I paid and took the cake home and all way long, I was thinking if I made the right choice or whether I will end up ruining my Dad's birthday. Sharp at 12 in the midnight when my dad cut the cake, is when I realised that I made the right choice of buying from Amma's Pastries. Although the cake looked very simple, the taste was far better than Just bake or Samvor. My Dad loved it and so did all my family members. Thank you Amma's Pastries for the wonderful cake with an icing of a reasonable price tag. I will make sure to buy from here for all future occasions...

Avoid This Bakery for Custom Cakes! (Only talking about this branch)

I had one of the worst experiences ordering a custom cake from this place. They provided no flavor recommendations or suggestions and simply asked me to check the menu. Even though I paid ₹5,200 without bargaining, I only requested a well-made final product.

However, upon delivery, the cake was leaning sideways, and there was a golden spray mistake that they tried to pass off as a "design." The actual design did not match my request at all, and they even added their own low-quality decorations without my approval. The coloring was horrible, and I had to ask them to fix it at the last minute.

Even when I placed the order, they informed me that they only make cakes two hours before delivery, which left me with no option to refuse or make changes, especially since I needed it for an event. The staff also lacked proper customer service skills and didn't communicate well.

Advice to future customers: Never pay the full amount upfront. If you need a custom cake, go...

One of our favorite shop for pastries, be it on a evening to have a yummy n tasty flavors of pastry or on a celebration. Very reasonable, lot of designs and flavors. But fails in fulfilling the intricate requirement of the customer. I ordered a two layer, 3kg cake for my daughter's 2nd year bday. Like any parent I wanted to make her happy by adding a doll of cow which she is fond of everytime she hears the mooooo sound. Ammas promised to do it not with doll but as eatable one using pastry and sugar syrup or something related to it. They charged 500 only for the cow to be added and on the last day my family's eagerness was shattered by seeing a lazy n tired cow with fat belly n stick like legs. Over this, one of the staff asked us in the afternoon before taking the cake, have we bought the cow or should they do it. We should have thot abt it but asked them do.

No disappointment in the design of cake or the taste. They are the best. But with the cows design they...
