I recently visited Big Bite and ordered three items, one of which was the Afghani Paneer. Unlike the other items on the menu that had prices clearly displayed, this particular dish had no price mentioned. When the bill came, I was surprised to see that the Paneer alone was ₹300, while the other two dishes together cost only around ₹240.
I later found out the Paneer was sourced from another restaurant upstairs, and before I could even ask about the pricing, they had already called that restaurant to prepare it. At that point, there was no scope for discussion. For ₹300, you could easily get a non-veg starter at slightly niche place, so the pricing felt out of place and unfair.
The lack of transparency in displaying prices left a sour note. I also noticed in other reviews that the owner tends to justify everything in replies rather than acknowledging genuine concerns. I hope this feedback is taken constructively — customers expect honesty and clarity in billing.
Update
The response from the restaurant clearly shows that customer feedback is not taken seriously. It feels more like an attempt to brush things aside rather than address the issue. During my visit, the elderly gentleman at the reception had no interest in listening, and the cashiers were completely clueless. The version of events described in the reply simply did not happen.
At no stage was I told that the order was coming from an external or partner restaurant. I only discovered this after questioning the price. That lack of transparency is unacceptable. Feedback about pricing is valid—it has nothing to do with affordability. Customers have every right to question charges and expect honest communication.
If the management cannot handle feedback, then reviews should be disabled rather than dismissing genuine concerns. And this is not the “first time” anyone has raised this issue—just look at your own review history, there are similar complaints.
This will be my last visit. I will not recommend this restaurant to anyone, and I’ll make sure friends and family are aware of my experience. Unless there is a serious change in attitude, it’s clear this place is more interested in making money than in...
Read moreBeing big fans of chaats, when they are rightly made, we absolutely enjoyed almost everything that we ordered here. The stars on Google review, based off which I chose this place for our dinner, were totally worth it. The Chinese masala puri that I started with was aptly spicey for my taste and tasty too. The soya chilli chops was new to our taste buds and we enjoyed it. The chinese mixed veg noodles that we had was decently authentic and mild in taste, catering to all our taste buds. My wife, who doesn't remember the last time she liked bhel puri anywhere, thoroughly enjoyed the corn bhel that she ordered. The mint burger that my son ordered, looked deceptively small but when he was done, he was content. Then there was sukha sev and dhahi puri, which we had despite being stuffed with all the afore mentioned items and they too lived upto to the standards of their friends on the menu. The banana milk shake was just right and the coconut milk shake was a breath of fresh air. Who ever knew you could like tender coconut with cow's milk so much. All in all a place I know we will frequent henceforth.
The seating could use some sorting out though as we were jostling for space and when we found some, we were managing multiple plates, precariously on...
