Gilly's does not require special introduction. It is one of the renowned Restobars in Bangalore and they have got multiple branches in various parts of Bangalore. This branch of Gilly's is a newly opened in Old Airport Road.
►Ambiance & Décor:
We were impressed by their ambiance, particularly the lighting. The bar counter was elegant and well-lit with yellow lights. The restobar has multiple floors, including an open space on the first floor. It also has a mounted TV that primarily shows cricket and football matches. The ground floor is dedicated for the DJ and the dance floor. They also have outdoor seating on the ground floor, which is preferred by smokers. We arrived here on Thursday. Even though it wasn't particularly crowded, the overall vibe was positive. Rahul Saali was the DJ for the day, and he did an excellent job. The DJ mostly sung Bollywood hit songs. Additionally, the DJ will sing special songs on request, such as birthday and anniversary songs.
They have also added a Lunch Buffet from 12-3pm on all days except Sunday. The Lunch Buffet is available at all of their locations. The price is given below
Veg Buffet Lunch - Rs 399 Non-Veg Buffet Lunch - Rs 499
Also, they have Happy Hour drinks from 12 to 6 p.m. Friday through Sunday and all day Monday through Thursday to help you relax after a long day at work. The prices are shown below
2nd Mug Beer - Rs 100 2nd pitcher - Rs 200 2nd Tower - Rs 300
Also, there is a bucket deal on your favourite brands like Kingfisher and Heineken where you can choose any 4 drinks for Rs 500.
►Customer Service
Their hospitality was excellent. Special thanks to their Manager Rajesh for his warm welcome and giving us brief overview of their food items. Their team was courteous and attentive. The staff was able to recommend the best dishes that would satisfy our taste buds. They were able to deliver our orders quickly. Overall, we had a great time here. Thank you, Rajesh and team, for your wonderful hospitality.
►Food and Beverages:
We sampled a mocktail and a cocktail from the Beverages section. We had their Velvet Touch in the mocktail section. It is an amalgamation of raspberry, pomegranate, and lemon that has been infused with sugar. Overall, we enjoyed its luscious flavour. From the cocktail menu, we selected the Rosemary Cranberry Mash. Due to the use of Teachers (Whiskey), the cocktail was strong and had a pungent flavour.
We selected two appetisers and a pizza from the menu. Angara Chicken Tikka and Mutton Chettinad Pepper Fry were the appetisers that we ordered.
Angara Chicken Tikka had a pleasant flavour and a generous amount of piquancy. Six pieces of chicken were served on a single plate. The dish was served with a small bowl of green chutney, which was accompanied by an impressive presentation.
The next dish is the Mutton Chettinad Pepper Fry. This was our favourite appetiser. Well-cared-for and cooked lamb cuts were presented. The dish had an exquisite flavour. A generous amount of succulent, well-cooked mutton pieces adorned a single plate. It was accompanied by four small roti pieces. The dish was presented in a visually appealing manner. If you are a huge fan of mutton dishes, you should definitely check out this dish.
We chose their special Gilly's Smoked Chicken Pizza from the main course section this time. The pizza's crust was crispy, and the toppings included BBQ Chicken Chunks, Mozzarella Cheese, Diced Capsicum, Fresh Basil, and a drizzle of BBQ Sauce.
The pizza was large enough for two people. The entire pizza was divided into sectors of 8 pieces each. The pizza tasted delicious. The BBQ sauce was spiralled on top, with small chunks of chicken poured all over it. The Pizza cost Rs 380 and serves two people.
►Cost:
Angara Chicken Tikka - Rs 299 Mutton Chettinad Pepper Fry - Rs 399 Gilly's Smoked Chicken Pizza - Rs 380 Velvet Touch - Rs 215

Read moreGilly’s has a new Restobar on Old Airport Road and my visit there for lunch yesterday left me mighty impressed. They have a great space spread over 3 levels. I love the upper deck as it has a fabulous outdoor area and the fresh air feel and vibes. The lower level is great too with nice spacious seating and a bar to boot.
I tried the following there:
Drinks –
Chilli Guava Margarita – Great presentation and taste ; must try for all tequila lovers Grand Dad’s Toddy – If you have a sore throat or cold and still want to party, then this is my go-to drink. It was soothing with all the herbs and spices added to good old brandy
Food-
Veg Platter – I love platters as they offer a little of everything . In this case, it had thai basil chilly paneer , stuffed mushroom, chilly baby corn and cajun spiced onion rings. The flavours were unbelievably good and the food was so fresh. The paneer was soft. The mushroom stuffing was brilliant. The onion rings were crispy and with the right amount of spices. Baby Corn was good too. They serve it with a creamy sauce which leaves you craving more. Penne Alfredo – This was a nice creamy and rich white sauce pasta. The garlic bread was sooo good. Thai green curry with Jasmine rice – I haven’t had a better Thai Green curry in ages. It was creamy and the kaffir lime added the much needed zing to the dish.
Dessert- Choco Brownie with ice-cream – A perfect combo that can’t go wrong
They have valet parking and are conveniently located. Must visit . Great place for...
