Dhaba Social !
Dhabas were initially started by enterprising Punjabis to caterto the needs of truckers, who were also initially mostly Punjabis, for authentic wholesome, clean and hot Punjabi food at any hour of the day or night. They typically offer 24/7 service. Dhaba roadside eateries are now a common feature on the Punjab's national and State highways. Earlier frequently only by truck drivers. Today eating at a Dhaba urban or Roadside is a trend. Thus, Punjab Dhaba has become a part of the culture of the Punjabi people.
Authentic Punjabi Dhaba Cusine you can get the locality. Located on BEML Layout, Varthur Main Road, Kundhanahalli Gate. They have homely Punjabi infrastructure with live Punjabi music. You feel that you are at local Punjabi Dhabas.

I Ordered Pudina Paneer Tikka Lassi Masala Papad Dal Makhani Methi Malai Matar Garlic Naan Kashmiri Naan Tandoori Roti.
• Pudina Panner Tikka - Grilled paneer pudina tikka is a mouthwatering starter recipe with a delectable mint flavour. The succulent mint paste coated paneer tikkas are placed in a tandoor or grill and typically enjoyed hot with onion rings. It was really good in taste. Panner was soft and fresh.
• Lassi - A classic, traditional beverage for hot summer days. Now a days it is not only popular in Punjab or North India but all over the India. It is cooling to your body during the hot or warmer days. Because it is made from yogurt and it has cooling properties. It was truly Punjabi in taste topped with dry fruits. It was chill served.
• Masala Papad - Chopped Tomatoes, Onions and other veggies tossed with masala spices served with fried masala papad.
• Dal Makhani - Dal makhani or dal makhni is a popular dish from the Punjab region of the Indian subcontinent. The primary ingredients are whole black lentil, red kidney beans, butter and cream. It was good in taste. It was a good combination with Kulcha and Roti.
• Methi Malai Matar - Methi Malai Matar is a delicious north indian dish which is very popular. Methi Malai Matar can also be found in the menu of most north indian or punjabi restaurants. It was something new from the menu which I haven't tasted.
• Garlic Naan - Garlic Naan is something which I can't resist from the breads section at Punjabi restaurants. It was hot served.
• Kashmiri Naan - Kashmiri Naan is Nutty & Tasty, liked for Breakfasts & served best in tea parties. This Kashmiri naan stuffed with a sweet cashew, Almond & Cherry paste. It was really good in taste and it was a good combination with the gravies.
• Tandoori Roti - Traditional tandoori roti.

Read moreVisited 'Dhaba Social' a couple of weeks back on recommendation of a close friend who stays in an apartment complex just next to it (near Kundalhalli Gate signal). As name suggests, 'Dhaba Social' is a dhaba-themed authentic Punjabi restaurant located very near to the Kundalhalli junction. In fact, you cannot miss noticing the huge restaurant logo from the junction while you are facing towards Varthur (Whitefield).
We had planned a dinner outing to ‘Dhaba Social’ on a Sunday evening. To be honest, I had not expected so many people in the restaurant so early in the evening at 7:30 PM - but the place was gushing with people at every nook and corner of the top floor, where the restaurant is situated. We loved the setting & decor of the place, which is reminiscent of the highway Dhabas - comprising of a mix of table-chair setting & plenty of Charpai's. We sat at a table close to the edge, facing the main HAL road. The place looked lovely, reminding us of dhabas in Punjab, especially due to the quotes on Punjab / Punjabi's & the amazing Punjabi songs in the background. A great place if you also want to also be up to speed with the latest Punjabi numbers, definitely an add-on along with the amazing food that you are served at the restaurant.
We ordered a Punjabi Lassi, Hara Bhara Kabab & Paneer Tikka as starters. Punjabi lassi was amazing & satisfying to the extent of giving us a Punjabi ‘Burp’, and amazingly delicious were the melt-in-the-mouth Hara Bhara Kabab & Paneer Tikka. This was followed with a typical Punjabi order of Dal Makhni, Paneer Bhurji with Butter Rotis. They were served in no time and everything was cooked dhaba-style to desi perfection. The serving size were huge and the order was sufficient for three of us.
Loved the place and definitely a recommend for authentic & reasonable Punjabi food...
Read moreDhaba Social has been around the neighborhood for quiet sometime now, I haven’t necessarily paid much attention towards visiting them, though I have ordered some Indian flat breads or roti’s, a couple of times earlier to be paired with some delicious North Indian curries that wifey makes. A month back, when family was craving for some good North Indian food and something that delivers quickly too. I decided to order some Naan and Paneer Butter Masala (Cottage Cheese Cubes in a mildly spicy tomato and cream curry) from @dhabasocial . While ordering I noticed the combo options that the restaurant had, which not only were interesting but also very cost efficient. I decided to pick up a Baingan Bharta (Smoked Eggplant in a mildly flavored mash) combo.
Delivery was swift, with the food still hot, in a perfect no spill package. The food was absolutely great, and the whole family loved every bite. The Paneer Butter Masala was just right, the spice, the tanginess, of the creamy sauce with firm yet almost melting paneer cubes that were fresh and just cooked right. The combo turned out to be even better too, I loved the smokiness of the Baingan Bharta which was perfectly well balanced and well made.
After ordering the same for a couple of more times, very recently I tried their combo with Dal Makhani (Black Lentils slow cooked with butter and cream), which was again a fantastic dish that hit all the right notes, absolutely delighted.
For now, Dhaba Social has become our go to place for a North Indian Style comfort meal that is within our easy reach and easy on the pocket, it is our new favorite and we have been recommending it to some of our neighbors who love it too.
The only feedback would be to introduce combos with Tandoori Roti’s too, as that is something that I would prefer than just...
