Flavours Inn Restaurant — Restaurant in Bengaluru

Flavours Inn is a 2 + Year old, renowned place located on the ground` floor of Gokul Centre in off MS Ramiah Road ,Gokula extension which is a peaceful location and away from all the traffic sounds and noise pollution. Its in the middle of a residential area and near to the Movenpick Hotel. I went to this place because of its peaceful ambience and the fantastic food it boasts of.

The ambience is good. They have both indoor and outdoor ( Not the open garden) sitting arrangements. As the outdoor sitting arrangements have high demand as it better for more privacy.. Décor is classy and elegant.

Flavours INN server good variety of Kerala , North Indian and Thai dishes, Wide variety of Seafood and Non-veg dishes.

5 of us went to this restaurant on a Sunday afternoon.

We had ordered - Starters :-

Crab Roast – a Big crab nicely marinated in the Herbs and spices, nicely cooked and served along with the salad. Recommended to try.

Karimeen Pollichathu ( Pearl Fish) - The best part is that you get it in the same way you get in the costal areas of Kerala. This is a delicacy.. baked full karimeen along with the Kerala spices covered in the banana leafs. This is a must try.

Trivandrum Chicken Fry - This Chicken dish, cooked in Kerala Spices is one of the best kebabs preparations I have had in a while. A must try, I must admit.

Garlic Squid- Succulent Squids cooked in the garlic and chilli masala melted inside the mouth leaving a lingering flavour in your mouth. I still can't get over it.

Main Course :- Phulka, Roti, Naan and Parotta, Appam - Well done. Dal Tadka - Yellow lentils cooked with north Indian spices was a perfect one.

Chicken & Mutton Biriyani- I must say that we got the one of the best Malabar biryani in Bangalore. The spices & masalas blended well with the rice…unlike other restaurants where you get the chicken & mutton pieces cooked separately and later mixed in the rice, here the pieces are cooked along with the rice. I must say that biriyani was an absolute beauty.

Malabar Fish Curry- The fish was fresh and was cooked in the thick coconut based gravy. For the spicy food lovers this is a real treat. Went well with the rice and appam.

Chicken Varatiyahtu – Chicken cooked in a thick onion based gravy…kerala style. Nice dish to have with parotta and phulka. Kappa and Meen Mulakittathu- This dish was an absolute beauty. Big succulent fresh Ayila ( Mackerel) with onions, tomatoes and other spices. A real spicy dish which is perfect for the Kappa ( Tapioca) .I kept on drooling over this dish.

Desserts:-

Kuluki Sarbath, Ice Creams- Kuluki Sarbath is a authentic Lime Juice prepared is a special way. A real kerala mocktail.

My experience was fantastic I must say. Service was overall great. They got us shifted to the outdoor sitting area for the main course as when we entered, the place was completely packed up. Food was top notch, which cannot be denied under any circumstances. The charges are moderate and affordable. Hence, my Sunday experience must be given a big thumbs up. Bad experience.

Billed for dish which was not returned, as it was not cooked properly.

Fush, Mutton... Not cooked.

Was very disappointed.

My first review was exceptional, but it was very unfortunate that the second visit turned out to be so disastrous.

Have vowed not to frequent this place again at all.

No, not acceptable. You should be aware of the entire history of what happened, as there has been so much written about the service levels at your outlet, on that particular day.

With all humility I request you to refund Rs.1.00.

Mr.Joe Panicker, please , an irate and unhappy customer has to be treated in such a manner? Guess , you are a specialist as you are in the hospitality sector, and you would know better.

Trust me, I am least bit happy.

Please do the refund at the earliest, else you might forget,... as many days have passed.....

The other day after seeing online better reviews I have taken my family for a dinner . We have ordered Chicken coconut fry, traditional kappa fish curry and Appam .. to our surprise they served chicken roast instead of chicken fry and the waiter had insisted that it’s our style of chicken coconut fry .. when complaint about the same to the manager he had not apologized but brought another dish that was a kind of Chicken fry which tasted not freshly made and very hard ..

On top of all this we have paid around Rs 1150 only for the above 3 dishes .. their rates are not matching with the kind of food they serve .. any way it was a bad experience for us and I advice them to provide reasonably better tasteful and quality food to match with the price what they are charging or else customer will not bother to visit them again .. We have learned a lesson that never ever judge any restaurant on the basis of reviews we see online .. This is strictly my personal experience I have had and my opinion .. I hope they will...
