Before you read further, you must know I have been Glen''s loyal since 2018 (Indiranagar, Koramangala). I present my loved ones with their awesome-melt-in-the-mouth red velvet mini cups. But after today’s experience, not anymore.
The service I had at Glen's today has been by far my worst of all In-house dining experiences. I am appalled by their unaccountability, lack of customer service and total disregard to little children.
We went to Glen's today (30/01/2022) in a group of 5 adults and 3 small kids at 10.15 AM. Being a Sunday we understand it would be crowded. Just to let you know we were not being unreasonable, We ordered ahead while we waited for our table and waited very patiently. It took them 1 hour 20 mins to not serve anything. The first dish came at 11.35 AM .And they are super KID-UNFRIENDLY, Whether in menu or in service. They don't have anything for the kids because they don’t have ale-carte during breakfast timings. They expect a 4-year old to order Breakfast combo (look up the menu to know the size of the combo).
There is no sight of store incharge/manager nor anyone who seem to know what the whole team is doing. They misplaced and never-served what we order until we literally chase them down to the kitchen. And even after that, lot of the promised items on the menu were missing. I literally had to take the hungry kids out to a near-by McDonalds after waiting in-vainly for 1 hour 40 mins. I have never ever ever experienced something like this from any eat-out place. Not even at the worst ones , I had to walk out to eat somewhere else.
And guess what, if you need to talk to the manager, you cant, because he disappears. There is no-one accountable there. I am not sure if this is the everyday scene there or just Sunday’s. But I am not going to go there ever again. If there was a zero or negative star rating, that's the one I would have chosen. They dont deserve even one star for starving...
Read moreAmbience: Decent. Spacious. There's outdoor seating and indoor seating. Although the furniture was a bit of a turn off. I've been to the Indiranagar branch and though it's smaller in size than this branch, I liked the setting there better. Good lighting. There was space between tables which made it feel slightly safer.
Food: We ordered the tomato soup which was slightly tangier than it should be. The French fries were good. The dip with it was good too. Then I had the citrus chicken in the main course as recommended by the staff as pot roast was unavailable. The sauce of the dish was just splendidly delicious. I'd definitely recommend that. Although I did not find the plating of this particular dish appetizing. It was served in a flat pasta dish which didn't make sense as there were chunks of chiken pieces in the sauce. I'd have instead liked a whole breast piece or a thigh piece with sauce on top and some on the side. The bread however with both the soup and the chicken dish felt a little inadequate as it was a thin slice of multi-grain bread. Nevertheless the bread was soft and fresh and as a bread lover I'd give full marks for the taste. My friend ordered a corn and cauliflower baked dish in the main course which according to him was too cheesy and had less cauliflower buds.
Staff: Courteous. Attentive. Wearing masks. Didn't see any table being sanitized after use though. They knew their dishes and what to recommend.
Value for money: Yes because it's one of the few decent places around the area and for once in a while kind of outing.
Overall rating: Good. The citrus sauce, the bread and the fries plus dip were...
Read moreIf someone were to talk about the highlights or the specialties of Bangalore, I think Glen’s would definitely make the list. With its incredible - decor, place setting, and style, lively ambience, hearty music and yummy dishes, it is already most of our favourites. Though Glen’s Red Velvet Mini Cupcakes stand out for major crowds, the entire menu and range of dishes are ‘must trys’ and beautifully made.
So far, I’ve been to numerous Glen’s Bake Houses, through and through what appeases me the most is their style, taste, good ambience, and respectable staff and that there is uniformity among all their outlets. It is a commendable achievement on their part. I am at a point where if I am visiting a Glen’s, I am sure to leave happy and satisfied.
So do take my opinion seriously and make sure to visit and try the food. Give the —Almond Crusted Strips, Creamy Chicken Pot Pie, Lasagne, Peri Peri Fish Fingers and Burger, Aloha Hawaiian Pizza, Andhra Style Pizza, Peri Peri Chicken Pizza, Breakfast items, Ice Tea, Bagel with Turkey, Walnut brownie, Boozy Chocolate Cherry, Croissants, Carrot Cheesecake, Macaroons — a chance to sweep you off your feet.
The only reason I chose to rate it four stars instead of five is because I feel there’s so much more potential that Glen’s can move forward to. And somewhere I know that they will work on it and soon make the Bakehouse a specialty of...
