Avoid Dindigul Thalappakatti – A Major Disappointment
I recently had the misfortune of dining at Dindigul Thalappakatti Restaurant in Electronic City, and I must say, it was one of the worst experiences I’ve encountered. From start to finish, everything about this visit was disappointing.
To begin with, the taste of the food was severely lacking. I had high expectations based on the restaurant’s reputation, but what I received was far from satisfactory. The biryani, which is supposed to be a signature dish, was bland and lacked the rich flavors one would anticipate. Other dishes were equally uninspiring, and it felt like they were prepared without any care or attention to detail. Even the sides failed to impress, leaving me wishing I had chosen somewhere else to eat.
Adding to my frustration was the pricing. For the quality of food served, the prices were exorbitantly high. It’s hard to justify paying such steep rates for what can only be described as subpar cuisine. I left feeling like I had wasted my money, which is a shame because dining out should be an enjoyable experience, not a regretful one.
The ambiance of the restaurant did not help either. It was noisy and chaotic, making it difficult to hold a conversation. The staff seemed overwhelmed and disorganized, which only added to the overall dissatisfaction. Service was slow, and when I did manage to get someone’s attention, they appeared indifferent to my concerns.
In a city full of amazing dining options, I would strongly recommend avoiding Dindigul Thalappakatti. There are plenty of other restaurants nearby that offer quality food at reasonable prices. Save yourself the disappointment and seek out a place where your dining experience will be worth every penny. I certainly won’t...
Read moreWe visited this outlet with high expectations, drawn by the legacy of the Dindigul Thalappakatti brand. Unfortunately, the experience fell short even before the food arrived.
👎 Service & Staff Despite having several staff members visibly free, it took an uncomfortable amount of time just to receive the menu card. The lack of attentiveness was surprising for a restaurant of this reputation.
🍗 Starters We ordered two starters, which were reasonably tasty. However, the portion sizes were underwhelming and didn’t justify the pricing.
🍽️ The Biryani Letdown The real disappointment was the chicken biryani. Both plates came with only tough, dry breast pieces—no mixed cuts, no flavor depth. The texture was so hard it bordered on inedible. When we raised this with the floor manager, his response was dismissive and unprofessional. He claimed customers “generally prefer boneless pieces,” but we were never asked for our preference, nor was there any mention of this on the menu.
A single biryani option on the menu shouldn’t mean the kitchen decides what the customer gets. The lack of transparency and flexibility was frustrating.
🧑💼 Management Response What made matters worse was the management’s indifference. No effort was made to address our concerns or offer any resolution. It felt like our feedback was brushed aside.
⚠️ Final Verdict This visit felt like a case of misplaced trust. For biryani lovers who value authenticity, flavor, and respectful service, I strongly recommend exploring other options in Bangalore. Dindigul Thalappakatti at Arikere seems more interested in pushing plates than...

Milagu nalli gravy and chicken varuval was good. Dosa: the worst dosa I ever had, all burnt dosa. Dosa i had same in place 3 months before , it Was good. Being unlimited full dry and burnt. First we ordered 2 it was soft, big and burnt. Next we asked to correct and make it crispy.. crispy also dry and completely burnt. Soo bitter. Parota: 2 we had was ok not a problem. Nool parota : 5 first 2 was very good and next 3 too much oil crispy, slightly burnt but taste wise it was good and properly mingled with mutton nalli. All gravies are mandatory starting price 300* and gravy quantity very less. Basically they want us to spend but quantity is not matching.
