Visited the most awaited place to be opened in RR Nagar and had a good experience.
Ambiance - 5/5 - the place is very nicely setup and there are tons of tables on the ground floor and first floor. Liked the paintings, trees and lighting. It's super crowded always atleast for now but it is a bit difficult to find a table.
Food - 4/5 - they have a huge menu veg & non veg and the place is open from 10 to 10. So, there is a seperate section in the menu for breakfast with omlettes, croissant etc. Options to consider sandwiches, burgers, pizza, pasta, croissants, garlic bread, short eats like fries, potato veggies, desserts etc.
Enjoyed the choco red velvet mousse cake - very different and tasty; It's not the menu so, you will have to check and order from the counter directly.
Peri peri fries was not that great, it was tasty but not crisp. It's not fun to eat when it's not crisp.
Thin crust Pizza was amazing but limited options for veg. We took the Primavera with sun-dried Tomatoes and baby corn. Sour dough pizza was over by the time we reached - 8 pm on a week day, would Definitely want to try them. I have heard that it's wonderful.
Frappe cold coffee with cream was mind blowing and loved every bit of it.
Service - 4/5 - service was good but there's lot of things to get right. I can certainly understand that the place is new and they have to get adjusted and everything; I completely agree with it. Here's the initial feedback for the owners to look into - 1. We had to remind the waiter to get all the items that we had ordered especially the coffee as the counter is a bit far and he was busy waiting other tables. 2. I had to ask for the menu and it looks like there were only 1 or 2 menus available, you need to increase it. 3. Lot of people were waiting for their order to be taken and there was a delay. 4. I was told paneer Mexican pizza was unavailable however, I saw it served to a different table and they ordered after me. I was surprised when I heard them ordering.
Parking - there was a security at the entrance and not sure what is his job description. People were parking wherever they want and it could have been organised better. Not sure if that is something that the security can look into.
Overall, it was a nice experience and would definitely want to visit the place again and try other items on the menu. Hope the service is...
Read moreI'm rating this place in comparison to the one in Jaynagar and based on the items we ordered today.
Situated a little ahead along the road to SOB, this place is calm and cozy especially on a cloudy day. There are 2 levels of dining and a bakery attached at the entrance to cater to your sweet tooth. For a bakery cafe, I'd rate the ambience 5/5.
Coming to the food we ordered: a Margherita pizza, peri peri fries, hazelnut shake, coffee milkshake, white and red pesto pasta, red velvet cupcakes and blueberry tarts. The pizza was baked to perfection and had good quality cheese. Fries were exceptional. Milkshakes were creamy, thick and frothy. They felt great on the palette. The pasta however was pretty average. The white sauce wasn't as viscous as we normally see and tasted a tad bit milky. The red pesto pasta was a little weird. The texture and taste felt like white pasta but it looked like red creamy pasta. It neither had the cream nor the tanginess of the red pasta. The red velvet cupcakes for which Glen is known for doesn't fail to disappoint. It's not very sweet so you can have a few of those. The blueberry tart on the other hand was too sweet and you'll need to wash it down with a glass of water. So, all in all the food, in comparison to the Jaynagar Glen's was pretty average. The food items displayed on the bakery looked delectable as well. They had puffs, cheesecakes, croissants, cupcakes etc. I'd rate 3/5 for the food and drinks we tried this time.
Coming to the service, despite having half the place full, the dishes arrived at our table at a decent pace. Though there was unavailability of a few items, it should be alright since there are a lot of things to try on the menu. I'd rate the service 5/5.
The pricing was about moderate and on par with most of the cafe menus in general and the quantity was justified by the price.
All in all, if you want a nice place to chill at with friends or family around RR nagar and have a penchant for sweet savouries, definitely check this place out. While a couple of the items on the menu were average I'm sure the desserts and other bakery items are...
Read moreThe worst experience. Here is the story , as I reached to the counter to get the famous red velvet mini cupcake they insisted me to sit and order , it was all empty but the tables were not cleared even their was no one sitting, finally they pull up a chair , the waitress and waiters was too busy in their la la land , I called my self someone to take order , but he passed it on someone she came without menu asked me yes I said right now give some cupcakes, with very difficulty she got me the cupcake I asked her the menu she asked someone else in the corner , finally the menu arrived, again I had to call out someone to take my order all of the waiter were standing and chitchatting, no courtesy or smile they had in their face or in their body language, anyway I ordered a sandwich which took almost 20 minutes to arrive, I tasted it was so horrible, still I feel puckish , eventually I decided to get macarons and I did , opened the package and I see it was the worst experience, anyway I don’t want to drag the story but the experience was horrible honestly wasn’t expecting anything like that. And the cupcake s my goddess I haven’t tasted this bad cupcakes ever in my life . So please don’t go for the outer look the whole place looks nicer , but the food and people will disappoint you for sure . By the way for the worst sandwich and coffee and 3 mini cupcakes I payed 642 bucks INR. Which was definitely not worth it,I would definitely say if you wana spoil your mood and taste buds plz visit The Great...
