Food: We ordered the following:
Hefeweizen: One of the better Hefeweizens that I have enjoyed in Bengaluru. Very light on the alcohol volume and bitterness, so this could be the perfect option for someone to start trying beer with.
Pineapple Saison: Totally opposite experience compared to the Hefeweizen. This beer did not have any taste of Pineapple. We waited for the after-taste to kick in but nothing happened. Got a taster to check if ours was a tasteless one but that one had the same impact. So this one is totally avoidable.
Orange & Cinnamon Sangria: Decent option for a white wine lover but I missed the sweet after-taste of cinnamon. When you're naming a drink on the ingredients, then better make sure that you're delivering the taste.
Chongs Chilli Chick Baos: Hands down, the best savoury dish that I tried during my visit. The baos were light and the chilli chicken stuffing was not overly spicy. I could taste the sauce, bell peppers and the leeks. So it was perfectly balanced. Highly recommended.
Iranian Juje Kebabs: I felt that the chicken lacked some seasoning. I didn't expect it to have the 'Indian-Lebanese' taste but I felt that a bit more salt could have elevated the dish to the next level. The mashed potatoes were a delight and the roasted veggies made it like a mini sizzler.
Cheddar Chicken Taquitos: This was very similar to cigar rolls which is a very popular bar snack these days. This one was filled with minced chicken which gave me a new experience of a known dish. What made it more interesting for me was the way it was served. It was served in a whiskey glass which had a base of a tex-mex runny dip primarily consisting of corn, bell pepper and butter. One could just dip their taquitos in the whiskey glass and get a whole new taste. Kudos to the team at Gold Rush Brews for nailing the experience of the dish.
Farro Senorita Pizza: This one was a quintessential cheese pizza with Arrabbiata sauce. It was hard to get this one wrong as it was a thin crust pizza cooked in a wood-fired setting and topped with some basil leaves.
Elaneer Payasam: Saved the best for last. Think no more and order this right away. I can easily rate this cold dessert as one of the top 3 that I have had in Bengaluru in the last 10 years. Don't expect it to be like your typical payasam. The tender coconut 'payasam' is served in an empty mature coconut shell and is a treat to your taste buds, thanks to some great additions to the core dish like dehydrated coconut crisps, sweet coconut foam, and a magnificent coconut tuile. One might think that the dish is going overboard with the coconut element, but the way the chef has married so many elements - gooey payasam, crunchy crisps and the tuile is unparalleled. Go ahead and treat yourselves to this spectacular creation.
Ambience: Ok, so I have a bone to pick with some restaurants and breweries. They tend to go all-in with some theme for their eatery and then don't do justice with it. Gold Rush Brews is fully focused on the 'Texas Ranch' kind of feel and the decor totally suggests it. But it ends there. Their menu is ranging from Italian to Asian to Tex-Mex to Indian as well. I would expect a themed restaurant to incorporate the vibe into each and every element and not only the decor. Don't get me wrong. Whatever they have done does give the visitors an opportunity to click pictures and make a memory out of it but if they would have had any other theme also with the same menu, I would have not felt any different. Had the restaurant gone with a Japanese anime theme with the same menu, then I would have had the same feedback. May be this is something that the team at Gold Rush Brews can think about and work on it.
Value for Money: Definitely value for money, thanks to the offers on Dineout and Zomato Gold. If you pick the right dishes, then it's totally worth it but if you don't, then the prices...
Read more1st open air cowboy theme brewery in the town. This place is sorted in total 3-4 no. of different houses and the entire ambiance is covered with mind blowing green landscape which is perfectly complimenting the wooden interior. Even they have small private cottage kind of sitting area scattered amidst the greenary. There are some awesome insta worthy corners like cowboy graphics on the wall inspired from hollywood movies.. We visited here few days back to enjoy the special menu curated by Chef Arnab. The menu is quite elaborated and has multiple options for both vegetarians as well as non-vegetarians.. Some of the starters which we tried and would be recommended are 👇👇 • Torpedo Prawns: Fresh prawns were marinated well with some spices & coated with shredded rice paper and deep fried therefore I absolutely loved the crisp on the outer layer.. • Apple Wood Smoked Jerk Chicken Tikka: The name itself is fascinating enough to make you place an order and you won't regret because it's as delicious as it sounds. The chicken pieces were tender and well marinated with caribbean spice mix and charred in clay pot which gives an earthy flavour to it.. • Gold Rush Baked Reshmi kebabs: If you like juicy tender kebabs which has subtle flavour in it and simply melt in mouth this dish could be your choice. Also, the presentation is top notch and you need to find out the kebab pieces within the cloud of baked meringue.. Other than these you can also try Gondhoraj Fish Tikka (An unique varient of lime from Bengal which is named as King of lime for its tantalizing fragrance). Now coming to the main course, we had Uncle Tom's Hyped Beetroot Burger: It's not only delicious but eye-catching too. The burger bun is black and well complimenting the red beetroot patty in the middle. It's huge and could be a great option for non vegetarians as well. Also, we loved the creamy wholesome Wild Mushroom Risotto with Truffle oil.. Dessert is must right!! So I saved a small place in my tummy for Gondhoraj Lemon Cheese Cake. The sweet aromatic flavour of my native blended flawlessly with the cream cheese and the result is delicate flavoursome piece of a dessert.. In beverage I liked the blueberry based mocktail named Dead Man Walking and a Pineapple based mocktail named California summer besides some signature cocktail like Zozo, Burnt Cuban and Long Island Tea.. Go ahead and visit them with your friends...
Read moreThis brewery in KR Puram has a wild wild west theme and is huge. Almost every corner has a different vibe and experience. The food and beer options are good, the service is quick and prompt, and the whole American West experience is truly fantastic. We had the following while we were at Gold Rush Brews.
Tried the Hefeweizen which is a German style wheat beer, goes very well with starters that are spicy.
Cappuccino was warm and nice. It is a single shot of espresso with milk foam and milk. Very few breweries offer coffee and tea, but it was great to see that Gold Rush Brews had a few options to choose from.
Torpedo Prawns was surely an eye opener. The presentation and the taste of this dish was beautiful, it was very wholesome indeed. The crispy prawns are wrapped in shredded rice sheet with a zesty lemon sauce.
Sanam Chilli Chicken is a fiery red sannam chilli spiced boneless chicken cubes with mustard seeds and curry leaves. It was nice to try a chilli chicken that uses a different red chilli rather than the traditional green chilli that many restaurants do. An experiment that has surely worked wonders here at Gold Rush Brews.
Egg Roast are grilled boiled eggs marinated with southern spice mix served with Peri Peri Fries. We would have loved the yolk to be a little more well done, but the outer grilled portion with the spice was perfect.
Deconstructed Namma Tiramisu is a Davidoff Coffee Mousee with Kalhua Rocks, pistachio biscotti crumble, and gold dusted leaves. A very unique presentation with a totally different concept makes this a must try at Gold Rush Brews.
Churros with hot chocolate and coffee decoction was the last dish we tried. The cinnamon dusted fresh churros were nice and crispy, served with a salted caramel jelly, and pot of hot chocolate coffee decoction.
Make a reservation as it is a little far off, the parking is easily available, and the staff here do take good care of you as well. You can find them at 53/1/2/3, Old Madras Road, Battarahalli, Thambu Chetty Palya, Krishnarajapura, Bengaluru, Karnataka 560049.
