I feel terrible to give poor rating to a cafe that I visit daily! Yes I visit Lavonne Cafe Bellandur branch daily as I stay in Adarsh so its walking distance for me. The reason for giving 1 rating is due to the recent experience I had to face with a new manager- Anam. The old manager Rocky was brilliant in every way. He knew how to talk to customers and make them return to the same cafe. Infact all the old staff-Locktmein, Alongti, to name a few, are all fantastic. And of course the food is amazing. I am trying to let everyone know how well I know the staff and how honest I would like to be before I write any review here.
My recent incident has really put me off badly. The new manager is a big thumps down. He doesn't know how to talk to customers, he cant even communicate well.
I go to Lavonne with my 20 months old baby daily to have a latte and sliced Avacado(for my baby). They have been charging me 80 Rupees for a sliced avacado for the past 1 year or so. Last December they changed the menu/pricing but did nothing to the sliced avacado as its an "Add On" Item. Yesterday I went & ordered the same thing and to my surprise they charged me 140 Rupees for the sliced avacado. After inquiring I got to know the new manager did it. I spoke to him and asked him why he changed the price overnight because I came here yesterday and the price was not this. Then he told me that they have changed the menu recently and hence the change in this as well. Now this gentleman, with an intention to hike the sale of the cafe, lied to me that they changed it because they upgraded the menu recently but in truth menu upgradation happened 5 months back!! Then I asked him which other item they changed the pricing of overnight. He said no other item. Then he insisted that he will not charge me now and talk to the management 1st, but I still paid. He should have 1st spoken to the managemenbefore doing all this!!
How can he give me a hiked up bill suddenly when I have been paying the same price daily?? And he did't even have the decency to speak with me 1st before doing this.
Today I went again. He doesn't even greet me or anyone for that matter because a lot of my friends have the similar feedback about him. His demeanor is extremely harsh and a Manager's post is an absolute people's role. Unfortunately he doesn't cut the bar at all.
I want someone from the management team to speak with me because I cannot have similar experience daily.
P.S He even told me in the menu the pricing of "Add on Grilled vegetable" is 140/- But this was there since last year, how can he change it overnight?? I have attached the photo of...
Read moreI recently visited Lavonne, run by one of India’s top chefs, and I had high expectations given its reputation. Unfortunately, the experience fell short.
We ordered a pastry and an affogato. While the pastry was decent, the affogato was a total disappointment. Instead of the traditional ice cream or gelato, the dish came with a frozen ice dessert. Surprised, we asked the staff if this was a mistake, but they explained it was an intentional choice to prevent the ice cream from melting when espresso is poured over it.
While I appreciate creativity in the culinary world, this felt like a poor substitute for the classic affogato experience. Moreover, this change wasn’t mentioned anywhere on the menu. As a customer, I felt misled after paying ₹300 for something that didn’t match the expectation of a classic dish.
If the restaurant decides to modify a traditional recipe, it’s only fair to inform customers upfront. Transparency would have made this experience less disappointing.

Read moreSo, apparently it happened on Sunday, I came with my friends around 11am and the place was a bit crowded but some of the few tables were free, but when we asked for the table there was this guys, he was the manager I think, he requested us to wait as the tables were reserved, as we only wanted to have a quick brunch and leave but instead we were bound to wait for mostly like half an hour......he let us just stood there and wait as we observed that the table's which we're empty before was still not occupied by any!!.... At that point it was really disappointing as I've been to lavonne for a couple of time's and they never took reservations but now suddenly the tables are reserved for which we have to wait for more than half an hr, for a person to wait for more than half hr for a breakfast that's likely just a waste of time when we can see there's free tables and still not able to sit and have a proper breakfast, after all this we just decided to leave as we we're getting late for other works too...well this experience at lavonne was really very bad and unexpected.
