Courtyard by Marriott Bengaluru Outer Ring Road — Hotel in Bengaluru

Being a Marriott Loyalty member for 14 years and having stayed across sixty countries in Mariott Group properties with level of Titanium Elite, total stay of 2434 nights and 291 nights this year alone, I came to this property with an expectation that was simply destroyed.

In relation to the stay itself, it was comfortable and Mariott group standards were met (not to the best that should have been the case - but okay enough), there were certain stars in this property.

The stars list starts with Sonumani of Housekeeping, Liza of housekeeping, Fahad (HoD of House Keeping) Chef Sajid (partially), Deepanshu of IRD, Souvik of Front Desk, Chitragupt of AYS and the brightest star - Priyanka of Guest Relations. She became the primary and one reason for me to stay in this property. These stars were so good in their activities, especially Priyanka - she practically became a sister to me. Varun as Director of Rooms was one unexpected star and seeing him made me not lose my anger and reduce my hatred for this property.

However, the one and most important reason that I choose and have always chosen Marriott properties is because of my health and the care that is required - in this aspect, there are so many hotels to mention that have overachieved - within India Marriott Hyderabad leads the list, then comes Marriot Hinjewadi Pune, Mariott Gurugram and outside India Marriott Courtyard in Stockholm (Sweden) and Marriott properties across Europe, Middle East (Dubai) and others. They have always taken care of me as family and in multiple occasions have had to take me to the hospital and get me admitted and take care of me from their hearts and soul. They have ensured my safe return and continued care throughout my stay.

In the case of this property, this is where the biggest and gravest error starts - the way of taking care of me was to an extent acceptable, but though I eat once a day - they could not get consistency in my food - which is a list of two dishes that got reduced to one dish daily - and they could not even get that right - PATHETIC!

But that still was acceptable to me - but when it came to taking me to the hospital, they did a wonderful job - but what happened afterwards is something that is unforgivable and unforgettable.

People from this property and I quote here literally said - "we are uncomfortable and hence not extending your stay as we feel that we are not able to, and we are not competent to take care of you due to your health....

From Disappointment to Dust: My Unforgettable Stay at Courtyard Marriott Bangalore

I recently had the misfortune of staying at this Marriott courtyard location and the experience left much to be desired. From check-in to check-out, it was a series of disappointments that transformed what should have been a pleasant stay into a nightmare. Incorrect Room Assignment Upon arrival, I was given the wrong room. It’s frustrating to start a trip on the wrong foot, especially when you’re tired from travel. The hotel staff needs to improve their attention to detail during check-in. Dirty and Dusty Room When I finally got to my room, I was greeted by a less-than-ideal environment. The room was dirty, and dust seemed to have settled in every corner. Cleanliness is non-negotiable in any hotel, and this one failed miserably. Unequal Treatment As a guest, I expected equal treatment regardless of my ethnicity. Unfortunately, the managers seemed more eager to please non-Indian guests, leaving me feeling ignored. Hospitality should be blind to cultural backgrounds. Late Coffee Service Breakfast the next day was another letdown. I waited a whopping 25 minutes for a cup of coffee while a fellow guest received theirs within 2 minutes. Timely service is essential, especially during breakfast hours. Forgotten Coconut Water Order Coconut water was on my breakfast order, but it seemed to vanish into thin air. Even with only five people in the dining area, my order was forgotten. It took them 45 minutes to realize their oversight. The Smelly Rag Incident Imagine my surprise when I found a cleaning rag, emitting an unpleasant odor, left behind in my room. Housekeeping clearly needs a refresher on cleanliness standards. The Unconvincing Upgrade In an attempt to salvage the situation, the hotel offered me an upgrade. However, no amount of room improvement could compensate for the overall lackluster service. I refused the upgrade Conclusion Hotel may boast stars, but its service feels more like a one-star establishment. As travelers, we deserve better. I hope my feedback reaches the management, and they take steps to rectify these issues. Remember, fellow travelers, research reviews before booking your next stay.
