Humble looks, great food... I had idli, masala dosa, onion utthappam, paniyaram, and podi-ghee roast during the 4 meals that I had @ Namma Idli Shop. I was on a 2-day business trip and was staying nearby. While on my way to a restaurant I saw this roadside eatery bustling, with the lot of office goers eating the breakfast here. Out of curiosity I decided to give a try here, and it turned out to be a great addiction. A lot of simple South Indian tiffin varieties are available, and despite a cramped space they have a lightning fast service. Both the quality and taste is very good. The only point of concern is that you have to stand on the roadside and eat. They have those huge umbrella shelters, but I am a little inquisitive to find out what they will do during the rains.

This was my first street food dosa experience. The shop cook/servers don't speak english, but there the locals were very helpful and helped us make an order. I can't really say what's a great tasting dosa tastes like, but I liked the flavors on this one. The dosa is on the sour side, but probably due to the fermentation of the batter which I don't mind. Lots of locals buying here which was a great indicator for us to pick this shop and try some local food. If you're in the area, give it a try. Price is definitely affordable for tourists - not sure with local standards. Meal was very filling and portions sizes are good enough for me. There were various dipping sauces options - liked the chutney coconut for sure.

Giving a 3 with a heavy heart. Very easily can be a 5 star review. Reasons below : Good quality, hygienic and sufficient quantity food. Probably due to huge rush and less resources, a slight hit on the taste. But not a sizable difference in taste. Service couldn't be quick, purely due to rush and shortage of resources. Need to add atleast 1 more cash counter. Atmosphere is really charged. People come for every positive reason. Jovial and people chatting is very nice. Overall adding, overall 3 more people as staff will go a long way in shooting it to 5* easily. Something management needs to take a call. But will definitely go there again and again.

The place serves traditional south Indian food like idly, vada, lemon rice, dosa (masala dosa, plain, onion, ghee, podi). They serve meals also at noon (time bound).

We have to stand and eat. There are a few tables put to stand and eat.

I had dinner here. Tried masala dose here which costed 50rs per dose. They put some red chutney & chunk of potato masala in the dose. If needed, you can ask them not to add red chutney which was a little spicy. They gave sambhar, coconut chutney and tomato chutney along with the dose.

To note: not much space to stand and eat food is served in small piece of banana leaf on the use & throw plate they have gpay, phonepe & all UPI payment options

Overall the taste of the food was good and...
