Read moreSo this was a last minute plan that we made to have some good food. The criteria was to taste some good unexplored food plus an awesome place to enjoy drinks with friends. Our search finally ended at "The Local". It sounded something really local but trust me it's kind of an underground place located in the 3rd floor in Kammnahalli that will not disappoint you.
The Ambience is pretty sober and is placed with theme nights from Karaoke 🎤 to the Ladies you have it all. You can also choose your seating if you are a smoker or non smoker. They play some classic cult of 90's which could bearing as they have the same playlist put up every time, but it's fun to go nostalgic at times with these music.
Coming to the food. Being a hard core non vegetarian, it's always difficult for me to taste that absolutely takes you of this work as always The Local as not up to that mark, but it didn't disappoint me either. I started off with "Chicken Cheese Nachos" which you get with the salsa dip and liquid cheese. The liquid cheese steals the show here and gets perfectly blended with the nachos. My veggie friend had to deal with the "Fiery Roast Veggies with Garlic Bread" which I really found it bland and I thinks it's not even worth tasting it. I went ahead to treat myself with more food bombs and ordered their famous "Chilli Sauted Chicken" with Tartar Dip and trust me it's heavenly good. Comes with amazing quantity and gets melted in your mouth like a candy floss that's how tender the chicken is. The next thing that we ordered was the "Vegetable Pesto Pasta" and "Pepper Fried Beef". I think the fired beef was star of the show taking all the credits among the food. All an all it's amazing place to have some quality munching time.
The Happy Hour 11 am to 6 pm is the superb thing at this restaurant and some quality cocktails will be priced at a very lower price. "The Hard Day's Night" and the spicy dicey "Local Grass" are the pick of the lot when it comes to cocktail. The local grass is spicy and will make all it's effort to set you on fire 🔥.
Here are the final ratings: Ambience: 3/5 Connectivity: 3.5/5 Food: 4/5 Cocktail:...
Read moreThe quality of this establishment has fallen drastically since the last time that I visited it. Looks like a change of management has also brought in a change in the way the hospitality is run in this joint and it is being run extremely poorly.
The popular draught beer brands weren't available to begin with and the only slightly less popular draught beer pitcher was served to us and that too was dead flat. The sides were a damp squib too because the Nachos were stale and lacked crispiness. The so called vegetarian Nacho platter was anything but a platter and it hardly had any of the popular vegetables and beans that are found in an original platter.
The music was all over the place with the guy at the turn table completely clueless about the mood of the patrons; he was rather seemingly more interested in playing for himself. The sound system was so jarring that it actually gave me and my partner a headache that we had to go drink some hot tea thereafter to feel normal again. This place used to have an earmarked place for patrons who like to smoke cigarettes inside the establishment. Only this time, they could be seen smoking in the outer section too which made the whole atmosphere suffocating and eye watering.
The people waiting the tables and thus responsible for the comfort and convenience of the patrons too were of no use at all when told about the shoddy state of affairs plus the pathetic customer service. They didn't even look or sound bothered other than responding with a few callous smiles.
All in all, it was a horrible experience and an utter waste of money and time to have frequented this place this time in anticipation of a good time. I was meeting this woman for the first time and I fondly called her to come share a few drinks with me at 'The Local' still thinking that it would be the good old pub that it used to be once upon a time not so long ago. I am compelled to say now that I was terribly disappointed. I am not coming back again to spend my hard earned money on such a ridiculous experience. Goodbye...
