Toit, Bagmane – A Breezy Saturday Twist at a Bangalore Classic I’ve been going to Toit for quite a long time now—ever since they opened their outlet inside Bagmane Constellation Business Park—but somehow, never got around to writing a review. It’s one of those places you return to often enough that it becomes second nature. But this time was different. I visited during lunch, and the vibe completely caught me off guard—in the best way. Toit is usually where I land for lively dinners—craft beer, chatter, and a buzzing crowd. But walking in on a weekend afternoon, the ambience felt softer, calmer, and a lot more relaxed. The sunlight pouring through the windows, easy-going music, and fewer people around gave it an almost slow-brunch energy. No suits, no noise—just good food and time on your hands. We skipped the beers this time and opted for something on the fresher, lighter side from their drinks menu. The Lychee Blush (lychee juice, lime juice, rose syrup) was light and floral—like sipping summer. The Sinful Passion (vodka, orange juice, passion fruit syrup, orange, ginger ale) was bolder, with bright citrus notes and a gentle fizz that made it perfect for daytime sipping. For food, we ordered the Veg Full House Pizza—topped generously with assorted peppers, black olives, sun-dried tomatoes, mushrooms, caramelized leeks, jalapeños, and crisp capers. It was packed with flavour, and the sweetness of the leeks balanced the spice beautifully. And then came my usual favourite—the Asian Chicken Salad. This one’s a staple for me; I find myself ordering it almost every time I visit. The kale, edamame, cucumber, and chicken, tossed in that soy-chilli-honey dressing, always hits the mark. Fresh, crunchy, satisfying, and just the right amount of indulgent. We also tried the Southern Fried Chicken Burger, which was indulgence stacked between a sesame brioche bun. The crispy KFC-style chicken with gherkins and spicy mayo was rich and juicy, paired perfectly with French fries and corn ribs—a comforting, satisfying plate that needed no tweaks. Overall rating: 4/5. Toit continues to be a place that delivers—whether it’s a bustling dinner with friends or a laid-back Saturday afternoon meal. The vibe, the consistency, and a few favourite dishes (looking at you, Asian Chicken Salad) keep pulling me back. Sometimes it’s nice to slow down, revisit old favourites, and remember why you started coming in the...
Read moreI’d like to take a moment to share my appreciation for the amazing service provided by Dilip at Toit. Every time I visit, he is the main reason I return. His energy, warmth, and professionalism are simply unmatched. From the moment you walk in, he makes you feel genuinely welcomed. There's something about the way he interacts that immediately puts you at ease. He has a natural ability to make people feel comfortable, seen, and valued. Toit in Bangalore might impress you with its lively ambience and trendy crowd, but don’t let the vibe fool you — everything beyond the decor is a complete letdown.
We started with what was supposed to be nachos, but what arrived looked and tasted like deep-fried mathri. It was bizarre and nowhere close to anything you’d call nachos. Hoping the main course would redeem the experience, we ordered a risotto — and honestly, I wish we hadn’t. The dish was bitter, undercooked, and just downright unpleasant. When we raised concerns, the chef doubled down, arrogantly insisting “this is how it’s meant to be” rather than taking feedback seriously. No apology, no willingness to correct it. It was only after some persistence that they finally agreed to cancel the order.
The service was slow, inattentive, and unbothered. At no point did anyone check in with us or try to make the experience better. For a place that seems to thrive on hype, the food and service are shockingly substandard.
Toit might be a decent place to grab a beer and click a few photos, but if you’re going there expecting good food or even basic customer respect — don’t bother. There are plenty of places in Bangalore that understand both taste and hospitality. Toit is not one of...
