Manthara Magic Inn — Hotel in Bengaluru

We stayed here purely because we were attending a wedding at the MTB Mangalameru. (15 minutes walk) It's literally right on the outer ring road, very very close to the Soul Space Arena Mall, although you'll see more of a sign for the Magic Restaurant rather than the inn.||||Rooms are arrange around an internal corridor and a triangular opening at one end. Staff at check in were friendly, but not necessarily helpful (wrong wifi password, with the correct one not being provided until "they get back from lunch" - that just seems incompetent that no one can write it down!)||||The room (3rd floor end near the stairs) was well laid out - Tv, fridge, good shower, comfortable bed). Breakfast was included and delivered to the room (omelette, toast, fruit juice and cut fruit which had seen better days), but was plentiful. Air con was effective when the electricity wasn't out.||||And the electricity was out a lot. Luckily there's a generator, which I figure was placed either directly outside our window or on the floor above. With that and the huge amount of road noise (which on Thursday night seem to go all night long) it made from two nights of virtually no sleep. It wasn't good by any stretch of the imagination. So when there were folks sitting on the sofas outside the room chattering loudly from 530am it didn't put me in the best of moods.||||We stayed here for the location (and because we couldn't find anything closer, but if I were to need to come back i'd find somewhere that wasn't directly on...

This is a pure budget hotel. The rooms are typical of a serviced apartment and not really hotel standard. However everything worked satisfactorily including the free Wifi (good speed). I think it is great for the demographic that it serves (business travellers looking for a decent place under 2500 INR), however others (including families) may want to consider other options.||||Breakfast is served in the room and doesn't offer much choice. Tea/Coffee is similarly served in the room (no in room tea/coffee). It has an attached restaurant (Kabab Magic) which again is a budget place which has average food. Worst possible experience in the hotel. I stayed there for a long time (almost 2 weeks). On my second last day of booking, I came late (around 12:15am) at night after work. The aged person who usually sits at the reception was not there. The other worker was drunk and mad at me since the hotel entry was locked and he had to unlock it for me. He did not allow me to enter my room and forced me to check out immediately. Few other workers also joined him and forced me to quit the hotel at that moment, though I had already paid till the next day. They did not refund any amount also.
