Went to this place when we were struggling to find a good Chinese restaurant in Bangalore. Ordered some Fried Wontons (served with sauce - which was really good)- which I liked both by the presentation and taste. Ordered Pork which I dint have but my friends liked it a lot and ordered another one. They mentioned that the pork was really spicy and that it perfectly complemented the meat. Later we ordered a Drums of Heaven - was OK. Ordered a Tofu soup which was an absolute disaster - it was tofu served with some greens in bowl of hot water. Main Course was a vegeterian dish with thread like noodles served with white sauce (may be Dan Dan Mein) - which looked and tasted absolutely disgusting. The Schezwan Fried rice was not spicy nor authentic Chinese style.
I felt we had a Indian Chinese Chef who was forced to cook authentic Chinese dishes - but as they say you can never take the Indianness out of an Indian.
Ambience: I liked the decor. Dragons on the wall. A chinese wallpaper with chinese ships. Chinese lanterns. A little dark. Its quite. The tables are arranged well and for large groups there is a large round table which is quite exciting.
Overall Experience: Slightly Expensive. Staff Courteous but the service is very slow. Overall an OK restaurant and my hunt for a good Chinese restaurant still continues...
Read moreOne of the places in this part of the city ( Whitefield, marthalli , hoodi ) where I get the typical Calcutta Chinese ambience.to be more specific, the"tangra" aroma..the other one being Mandarin at Whitefield road.this one is a bit special for me since it serves pork dishes ,which mandarin doesn't.and hailing from Calcutta, any Chinese meal is incomplete without, atleast, one pork dish.and being from Calcutta, we are very very picky about our Chinese eateries. For once, if the food is not up to the mark...that's it. The place gets permanently deleted from our list of eateries.there is no second chance. Fortunately, this place has been able to keep our expectations every time we visit. The quantity earlier was good.but now it has been reduced .I suppose, that's happening for most all the eateries in town. Ample parking space, friendly staff, awesome ambience ....
A word of caution: like many other restaurants, this place also seems to have faced the wrath of lockdown.the number of waiters are only 2 at this moment.so, avoid going on weekends ,coz it might take a long time to...
Read moreThis is still one of my favourite restaurants from my childhood.❤️ When my family and I go to the restaurant, we always order the "Triple sheshwan fried rice with prawns and pork" and the "honey chilly chicken," as well as the "Hot and sour chicken soup," which was/is excellent. I swear to God, we've sat in every corner of the restaurant, in every seat. We knew one of the waiters, and I'm not sure if he still works there, but he was a cool guy!!
I'm hoping this restaurant remains open for a longer period of time. If anything happens to this golden place, the only thing I'd want is to eat the their food from there one...
