The Grand Gokul Kitchen — Restaurant in Bhichaulimardana

My wifey and I had an invitation from our family friends and the venue was The Grand Gokul. It took us around half an hour to reach the venue from Mahalaxmi Nagar. The parking space was adequate and we received a warm welcome from a sweet and smiling suit clad lady at the Welcome Desk.

We were seven of us and were shown our table. There was much hustle-bustle as three families with several relatives and friends had come to celebrate birthdays. My close friend placed an order for the starters and main course and requested the staff member not to get garlic added to any of the ordered delicacies.

The food was simply fresh and truly delicious. I just loved daal, naan and paneer sabzi. Mix vegetable was equally great and so were the starters. Everything was hot and properly served.

The plates can be replaced with better ones and the chairs too, but the look and feel of the place was great. The place was well-lit and well-decked. The washrooms were clean and there was some green seating area too.

This was hands down the worst service I’ve ever experienced! The servers were absolutely pathetic, barely even responding to us. The only saving grace was the one female server who was actually doing her job, but even she couldn’t make up for the disaster that was the rest of the staff. And don’t even get me started on the food—it was downright disgusting! I’m a better chef than anyone in that kitchen, and I don’t say that lightly. Bad taste. We went on weekday to avoid the serving issues as mentioned by others. But what a pathetic taste. Rates are similar to a good restaurant, but taste is bad. I ordered simple main course of paneer do pyaja and sev tamatar. And both were bad. Sev tamatar did not even tasted close to having any tamatar. Tandoori roti were so thick that 1 roti se 2 ban jaye.
