My dining experience at this restaurant was like stepping into an Indian Railway Station during rush hour, and the waiters were on a mission as if they were about to miss the last train of the day. The head waiter, whom I'll affectionately refer to as the "TT" (Train Tamer), was diligently overseeing the operation, making sure no guest would sneakily sip water brought from their own journey. It was like a scene out of a high-stakes culinary thriller.
As we, unsuspecting travelers, returned from our epic journey, proudly clutching our water bottles like seasoned adventurers, the TT, in a sudden burst of unexpected excitement, approached us. We anticipated a warm welcome, but alas, his urgent plea was for us to resist the temptation of uncapping our rebellion-inducing water bottles. It felt like a water bottle rebellion was brewing, and the TT was the vigilant enforcer of hydration rules.
The taste of the dishes was as elusive as a chameleon in a color wheel—no distinguishable flavors, just your standard restaurant fare. The waiters, in their hurry to serve, could have easily moonlighted as Olympic sprinters. I half-expected them to break into a relay race with trays of dishes.
The ambiance, true to its theme, mirrored the chaos of a local train during rush hour. It was a symphony of clattering plates, the rhythmic clinking of cutlery, and the occasional whoosh of a waiter zipping past with a tray.
In the end, the restaurant's railway station theme delivered on its promise—it was a journey filled with unexpected twists, urgency, and a stern warning not to unleash the forbidden elixir of personally carried water. All aboard the culinary express, where every meal is an adventure, and the taste is just another passenger on the...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of dining at Bhopal Express, a unique restaurant built on a rail coach and situated by the picturesque Bhopal Lake. From the moment I walked in, I was captivated by the restaurant's ambiance and atmosphere.
The first thing that caught my eye was the live music, which provided a lively and upbeat backdrop to the dining experience. The view of the lake from the restaurant's outdoor seating area was breathtaking, and I appreciated the option of both indoor and outdoor seating depending on the weather.
The staff at Bhopal Express were excellent and very attentive to our needs. They were always on hand to answer any questions we had and made sure that we had everything we needed throughout the meal.
One thing that really impressed me was the cleanliness of the bathroom facilities. The bathrooms were spotless, which is always a good sign of a well-maintained establishment.
Now, onto the food. The options were abundant and there was something for everyone. I tried several dishes and each one was more delicious than the last. The chefs clearly take pride in their work and the presentation of each dish was impressive.
Overall, I would highly recommend Bhopal Express to anyone looking for a unique dining experience in a beautiful location. The live music, lakefront views, excellent staff, clean facilities, and delicious food make this restaurant a...
Read moreI used to be a big fan of this place and this would be the first choice to take any new guest...but my last two visits have been very disappointing. Decor and ambience is still perfect as before Food- both quality and quantity- have just gone down. e.g., it is common to have soup ordered 1by2 in any other place...here I was shocked to see even 2by3 soup was hardly 2 soup spoons!
Menu choice is very limited...(I'm talking of vegetarian food).
Their all time hit 'baingan Mirchi ka salan' (chef's special) has lost touch. Last time it had too many chillies n hardly any brinjals... yesterday it was just d opp!
Their any korma dish is sweeter than a dessert!
Yesterday's paneer was harder, leathery n more tasteless than soya paneer!
Their waiters are not that hospitable as they r expected to be in a highly competitive gourmet industry! They have this knack of serving the host first in a group (despite being told whom to serve first) Really sorry to say this all but can't hold it back. No more visits to this place...from my side...gave 2 chances to confirm the falling quality. It's bye from me Bhopal Express...you r no more...
