Shady looking place. Great rolls. One of the best in this part of the town. I always go for a single egg double chicken roll which sets me back by 90 on today's date. The basic egg-chicken roll costs 70 which is standard practice. The parathas are the star of the show. They are made very meticulously and are layered like an oily mosquito coil. If you're drinking with friends get their egg paratha. Could very well qualify as an egg pizza, because of their flaky yet fluffy parathas. Cut it four ways, it's perfect with some beers. The bald guy manning the roll tava is a master of his craft and very funny too. Dev Babu always writes his orders on a small piece of paper like an IPL bookie, but actually is a very sweet, funny and amicable guy, full of smiles.
They also have Chicken Pakoda and Chilly Chicken which are secretly chicken wing pieces exclusively, unlike most other places in bbsr where pakoda pieces can be more or less anything. The chowmein comprises thin noodles, not quite meifoon but still thin, which I personally don't like. But the fry on the noodles was pretty good and the seasoning was pleasant the only time I had it. I have seen many people try soups, but looking at how bbsr weather has been recently I dont go for fast food, let alone soup. I'm not a big fan of their biryani and haven't tried their roomali roti and tadka collection. I think their vegetarian fare is not as good. Best not to come here if you're a vegetarian. The ambience is shady but if you're with friends you can sit on dimly lit round tables
All in all, if you're stuck on Patia traffic and suddenly crave a good laccha paratha roll, take a pitstop at Dev's.
Edit: The shop's iconic location has changed and it is much much more hygienic. You can sit inside a cabin now and interact more with Dev babu. But sadly the bald tava man isn't there anymore. Although the new boys are doing a tremendous job, the rolls and parathas are a bit off. Still pretty good though. Also I don't think they got Rumali roti anymore, the setup...
Read moreIt is a small place with great food but 0 good ambience. They serve good though We often visit this place as it is near our house and we are also their regular customer. And the actual reason of visiting this place is its near our house 😂 I would recommend to try their chicken rolls, non veg mix fried rice and veg mix fried rice. The price is affordable. 100- 200 per person. I have seen, People mostly order chicken roll and chowmin here. You can also try out egg paratha and chilli chicken. It is a very small place for large party but you can takeaway your food as well. To be honest, for me it doesn't matter whether the place is giant, big or small or too small. The quality, quantity matters the most, and the price should also be reasonable. I hope they maintain their quality rather than reducing it like...
