Tandooriwala — Restaurant in Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation

I have visited this fine dining restaurant a couple of times (before the renovation). Before, this restaurant was only located on the ground floor with simple ambience and delicious food. Now they have improvised and the whole restaurant is a two story building. Along with this they have designed their interior to look classy and royal. Beautiful chandeliers on the ceiling, exquisite wall paintings (with huge mirrors installed at some parts), dining tables with high neck comfotable cushioned chairs, well uniformed professional staffs will give you a feeling of having dinner in a royal palace. When we entered the first floor our expectations were really high. We thought that food is gonna blow our mind away. But the opposite happened. Everything was fine except the food as if something was missing. We ordered their special chicken tandoori, pahadi fish tikka, kulcha, garlic naan, chicken rara, dal makhani and lime soda. Tandoori was ok kind of but a bit too dry while chicken rara tasted like boiled chicken mixed with spices and then served to us. It was like eating chicken kasa but without any flavor. Pahadi fish had the same fate like it was simply dipped in spices then smoked on heat and served to us before the spices could be cooked properly. Dal makhani was the worst because it was more like a dal tadka. It was supposed to be smooth and creamy in taste. So we were disappointed with the food. Taste wise the place serves nice and quality food but if you consider the price range and the service, it's not good at all. The waiters are busy for no reason,looks like they are running for nothing. We ordered chicken kassa which costs 350 and they gave 4 pieces. Taste was nice but seriously!!! 350 for that simple taste and the waitress brought me chicken do pyaza. When I said I ordered chicken kassa so why are you serving this to me! She is saying both are the same ,you please have this. Like dude seriously!!! We ordered prawn hakka noodles and in the bill they charged for crispy non veg noodles and on asking the waiter is saying on our tab, the prices of hakka noodles and this noodles are the same and in the menu book it's different. Dude do one thing, next time give us your tab, we will order on that. They charged for a water bottle which we never took. On asking he said, it was by mistake. Why such chindi harkat!! You think customers don't look at the bill ,they just pay and go!! The most important thing. According to price, the taste is 3/5 and quantity..omg -1/5. Don't expect a curry can be served within 2 people. If you are going to fill your stomach with food then order everything according to the people you are with. One curry per one person and one biriyani per one person. And be ready to spend twice the amount you will get at any restaurant. I recently visited Tandooriwala restaurant in Patia, Bhubaneswar. The ambiance was very premium with beautiful chairs, tables, and chandeliers. When we went there, the restaurant was quite empty. We selected a premium chair, but we were a group of four, and there were only six chairs at the table.

First, the staff denied to seat there, and after we insisted, they said they would clean it. After that, the staff started gossiping and laughing at us, which was very embarrassing. Even after cleaning, they continued gossiping about us. This was extremely disappointing and unprofessional.

Because of this, I am deducting 2 stars ⭐⭐.

However, the food was excellent. The special chicken fried rice and Ra Ra chicken with naan combination was fantastic, 5 out of 5 for the food 🍽️🌟.

After they cleaned, we were finishing our meal when the staff came and started taking our plates.
